Auckland Volmet, 6679 USB, 12/24/16, 1020 and 1050z

Weak but distinct and copyable, active 1020-1025 and 1050-1055 UTC. This Volmet is on a rotation with Honolulu, Hong Kong and Tokyo Volmets using this frequency, but Auckland is the only one I have heard. Not even a hint of any of the others.

I can assure you the others are active in addition to Auckland Volmet, Tokyo and Honolulu heard this week, Hong Kong a few weeks back.  Propagation has not been the best on this band, varies from night to night.

Oh, I've no doubt of that, but in my location I'm lucky to hear any of them at all. It's very surprising that out of the four, Auckland would be the one to reach Denver, and not Honolulu.

When I have block days off from work I often get up around 0130-0200 in the morning local time and tune for the rare ones, propagation permitting. 

A fair few on my Volmet lists appear to be inactive too, especially Iran, Pakistan, Bolivia and many of the Russian ones, plus Beijing.
