KPZL Puzzle Radio, 6932 USB, 2204 UTC, 04 July 2017
« on: July 04, 2017, 2204 UTC »
CW, signal drifting around, but decoded "Puzzle Radio" using Fldigi. (EDIT - double checked and it's P U Z Z L E R A D I O. Just one R.)
This was on for only a minute or so, for me at least.
2245 starting to get some decent snippets of text.
" BEFORE VOTING PUZZLE ... CELEBRATE HE 4TH OF JUIY ND NIEHT FOR INDEPENDENCE FROM TYRANNY AN IMPOSED RELIGIOUS BELIEFS ..."
2252 more text
" FLAG AND BEAT THE DRUMS A PREJUDICED DEMOG THIS WAY COE IMING INTELIIGENCE ILE
DENING SCIEECE TWEETING LIES WITH SMUG DEFUNCE ... " (that last word was probably "defiance" as noted by Refmo earlier."
2254 faded

0121 (05 July) Getting a good copy, confirming that this is something that the op is running on a loop.
" ...  WHILE DENYING SCIENCE TWEETING LIES WITH SMUG DEFIANCE FACTUAL INFORMATION IS CLAIMED AS FAKE THE POOR ARE TRAMPLED IN HIS WAKE PATRIOTIC CITIZENS VALUE FACTS AND APPLY CRITICAL THINKING BEFORE VOTING PUZZLE THIS ..." Fldigi started posting nonsense after this.
Whoops, realized it's a word puzzle.
"  STEGANOBRAPHIA DPRAQ KKODE YPRFH JRFWC ICPAH EOEHE SJJZR DTONZ IXZFD
CICXP DRFSX MWKKB XCLHR CJHUW FIXNX AXXYZ "
"CELEBRATE THE 4TH OF JULY AND FIGHT FOR INDEPENDENCE FROM TYRANNY AND IMPOSED RELIGIOUS BELIEFS KPZL PUZZLE RADIO K P Z L K P Z L PUZZLE RADIO WAVE OUR FLAG AND BEAT THE DRUMS A PREJUDICED DEMAGOGUE THIS WAY COMES"
            Repeats previously logged text

0132 In case the previous decode of the word puzzle section is wrong, here's what I got the next time it looped:
STEGANOGRAPHIA  LPRAQ KKONE PRFH JRFWC ICPAH EOEHE SJJZR DTONZ IXZFD CICXP DRFSX MWKKBXCLHR CJHUW FIXNX AXXYZ

Very weak here @ 2214, just catching snippets of text 'smug defiance'.
2233 - still going, too weak to copy much
2334 - still going, S3 and fair copy now
2335 - 'KPZL PUZZLE RADIO'

Puzzle Radio, 6932 USB, 1315, 7.4.17.  CW with ID and Political rant including "raise the flag, beat the drum" noted above.  CW decoded by one of my mini DX partners for the morning, Chanter.

Fair to good signal.

Markokpik has this one right.  Three of us copied Puzzle Radio in Lake Farm Park, just south of Madison, WI, on our yearly mini DXpedition.  What a great morning!  :)  Anyway.  Here's part of what I was able to pick out:  Shoot the fireworks, beat the drums, somethingorother demagog this way comes, claiming intelligence while denying facts, patriots should embrace (?) facts, then something about steganographia (fair enough, considering I'm copying CW by ear), and a bunch of random letters.  KPZL Puzzle Radio IDs in there too.

Hey Mark.  The KPZL ID likely confirms west of the Mississippi, unless someone's messing around with call letter conventions, or pulling a KFIZ on us.  :)
Madison, WI, U.S.A.
Tecsun PL-660, Yaesu FT60R handheld, and Realistic DX-398 (back up and running!)
