Propagation has been good one night lousy the next this way as recent solar activity has knocked the bands about. I'll pass on the 1977 loggings thanks, tend to focus on the current. I don't run a paper log any more nor a computer log for utility band DXing.
My two best for August was Santa Mario Radio in the Azores and New York Radio both on 8MHz with the latter a long path logging...listed below. Took near 40 minutes for Santa Maria Radio to rise up to a readable level, worth the wait.
I chase M89 Chinese spy stations on CW plus aviation HF and NDB's on the low wave section and that is about it. On amateur radio I focus on 75m CW and 50MHz fone/CW.
Here is some interesting catches this way from August you might like to be on the alert for:

(23,955kms LP) just readable, aircraft 5X2 report. 2202z. (Long Path).
Interesting to note is that Honolulu Volmet, in Hawaii, has gone off air around two or so months back on HF bands, no one in this region has heard it, maybe a technology upgrade has seen the demise of their HF operations?
Good luck Rob, hope you get some distance records, Asia and the Pacific would be good for you, we take them for granted this way as they are always there... Jack VK2XQ
PS: You might like to publish your data (equipment, antenna and grid square) at the bottom of your page, saves people asking...what do you run? See mine for example at the bottom of each posting...
