11 meters full of activity 1745 UTC 22 April 2018
« on: April 22, 2018, 1750 UTC »
I've been watching the band all day, and it just cam alive, activity all over the place, the enter CB band, probably something on each channel, as well as up above CB to just below the 10 meter band. Not nearly as much activity below the CB band, just a few AM stations noted.

I just put up an 11 meter band dipole, it is at about 45 ft height, so a bit over one wavelength. Amazingly more sensitive as compared to my other antennas.

Glad to hear you have a proper 11 meter antenna up and running Chris!

You'll hear a lot more with the sporadic-E this season
U.S. East Coast, various HF/VHF/UHF radios/transceivers/scanners/receivers - land mobile system operator - focus on VHF/UHF and 11m

Getting Sporadic E tickles on CB CH 38 LSB. Most of the weekends, the E-clouds seemed centered above me, (Mostly.). So, everyone about 200 miles from me are having all the E fun. Motha' Nature likes teasing me this way.
“I am often asked how radio works. Well, you see, wire telegraphy
is like a very long cat. You yank his tail in New York and he
meows in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? Now, radio is
exactly the same, except that there is no cat.”

I am hearing several French QSOs above the CB band now (2020 UTC 7 May 2018), such as on 27625 USB.

I tried to listen but I could not understand anything. What language are they using?
Is there a CB to English app?  ;D
