Laser Hot Hits 4015 AM (via Global Tuners)
« on: August 08, 2011, 0233 UTC »
Listening via Cumbria, UK, DX global tuner remote (not a peep here at home in the US)
8/8/11, 4015 AM, 0200-0230z: Clear ID's for Laser Hot Hits, long track "Song of the Marching Children" by Earth & Fire, theme from "Elvira Madigan".  DJ commenting about length of tracks like "Song of the Marching Children" making them unsuitable for contemporary music radio formats.  Very true, shortwave pirate stations now remind me of some of the better FM stations during the late 1960s-mid 1970s that left the playlist to the DJ's discretion and often included whole album sides.

Conditions seemed generally good to the Cumbria UK tuner for 4015, with some fading and static crashes along with heterodyne that might have been due to the Icom PCR-1000 (those seem vulnerable to intermod and phantom signals from nearby flamethrower MW stations).  Not a peep of Laser Hot Hits on 6940-6945.

Fun to play with these Global Tuners remotes - it's perversely reassuring that everyone worldwide is suffering the same mediocre propagation on HF.
