I hunted HCJB a lot of years ago - I liked their DX program. They were heard well in Europe. Then they changed the tactics of transmission and 2009's liquidated their own HF broadcasting center, transferring the emission to transmitters scattered around the world.
    You had a reception directly from Quito 1 kW transmitter.

Yeah, I remember back in the 80's pulling in HCJB  "The Voice of the Andes" on my 1st SWL receiver - a Kenwood
R-600 with an Eavesdropper trap wave dipole.   I'd like to have both of them back..   They always came thru Lima Charlie in the Upper Midwest.
