Somewhat confusing...

The earlier transmission on 6925 was in AM mode and fairly strong here: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,60653.0.html

This transmission was in USB only, and extremely weak.

No ID on the first transmission. It could possibly have been Argyle Radio as well, of course.

The band had gone long, is my guess.

When I was lil' AM dx'er, Tomas Hood of "73 Magazine" had a bit of advice for us that's served me well over the decades, turn the radio's ferrite core in the opposite direction of your listening direction. If you're a roughly east-west dx'er, turn that radio to N-S position when the MW band is acting funny, and have your Spanish and Portuguese dictionaries ready.

Certainly a possibility, although it was just a few minutes between transmissions, and I did not notice any of the characteristic selective fading in the first (AM) transmission. But yes, it (and other propagation changes) can happen in a matter of minutes, so impossible to rule out.
