i heard what sounded like a FAX broadcast up there a few days ago, but figured it was a pirate playing around with a digital mode or something. Did anyone get a recording of this?

I had the SDR recording during this time frame and caught it all on 6930L & 6935L:

2311 UTC: "I'm going to try the FRN.  Test One Two Three, oh God damnit!  The radio just conked out."

2313 UTC: "Test one two three.  Can you hear me?  Any TVI?" followed by what sounded like a roger beep.  A YL responds "No", same roger beep follows here transmission.  OM: "Ok, nothing on sideband, nothing on sideband, okay try channel 10".  OM then does a test count after getting terse with his YL "You cut yourself off again!", YL responds "Okay, go ahead, do it!"  The fun repeats as OM does more test counts, YL is apparently checking television channels for interference, the two are probably communicating via a two way radio - GMRS handhelds maybe.

2315 UTC:  This has now moved up to 6935 with more test counts "Test test test one two.  Checking for f***ing TVI, f***ing TVI!  Anything?"

Unless Ragnar heard something different, this wasn't military - just a pirate and a patient YL sorting out a TVI issue.
