Unid 6925 AM (Captain Morgan?)
« on: June 02, 2012, 0436 UTC »
6/2/12, 6925 AM, 0430z: Crazy mishmash of Stones "Honky Tonk Women" and Three Dog Night "Mama Told Me Not to Come", Twilight Zone theme.  Sounds Captain Morganish, but no positive ID heard.  Good signal via eastern web tuner, just barely audible through noise at home.

Unpleasant Frequencies Crew
Al: Palstar R30C & various antennae

I tuned in too late. Very strong 20 dB/S9 signal here but I only caught the last minute of the Rolling Stones.
0434 - Honk Tonk Women
0435 - over 10 minutes of an unmodulated carrier
0447

Did not catch an ID. SINPO 44233, which is actually not bad considering I am stuck with using a cheap Kaito KA33 loop antenna tonight.

I think I had Captain Morgan as early as 0335 UTC with a very weak signal. Then, at 0405, the signal suddenly shot up to S9+30, with Honky Tonk Woman playing. The signal previous to this was very weak, and while it sounded like Honky Tonk Woman was also playing just before the signal increase, it is difficult to say for sure, and it could have been someone else.
