"Winston tastes good like a cigarette should!"

50 years after cigarette ads on tv and radio were banned and that one is still stuck in my head.

Listening to a recording of WANK

From 0136 ... KC Kasim "American Top 40" program: must have been a hot program with Temptations, Rolling Stones ... Commercials throughout including the Winston commercial at the end.  Can confirm Skipmucks ending ID ... with slight difference "WANK.  The wanker."

There was a few seconds of silence, then some incomprehensible talk by a man.

S6 with occasional fades.

When WANK first started a few months back, given the call letters, I thought it was a sure thing with "The Wanker". Listening closer, I had some doubts, and after a few broadcasts I changed my mind and am certain the ID is "The Anchor". On one broadcast the ID was followed by "Anchor Baby"-Jon Lajoie, and on another broadcast the ID was followed with a snippet of "Anchors Aweigh". Perhaps WANK is providing us with some deliberate confusion, as is common with our pirate friends....LOL! Here is one of the clearer ID's I've recorded. I do not hear a W in front of the "anchor" or "anker". In the absence of the op illuminating us on this with a QSL with the correct ID, we can only speculate!  ;)
