330z   just spinning the dial - an interview with a very articulate woman wrongfully incarcerated for 17 years, the psychological horror and her struggles with reintegration.

Strong signal with some flutter out of Cypress Creek .

QSLs Received / HCJB Program Guide dated 20 Nov 1971 recovered 47years later

Visiting my Father in Richmond Va on 11/20/2018 , I found a box containing an envelope with the HCJB logo and inside was the letter i wrote that was returned and a program guide for Oct 1971.  If there was qsl card it is missing
Besides learning that it exists i was a bit surprised to see the postmark from Ecuador dated 11/20/ 1971 , 47 years ago to the day .
According to my letter , the frequency was 15115. The radio would have been a Sears Silvertone Wayfarer model 8227

This station is playing Country music , mostly recent but I've heard older standards like "EL Paso" .  It appears here around 3-4 UT  , before that only a foreign language station and WAKR Akron mixed with a few others.
There are few if any ads it seems giving a location , the music is mostly continuous from what I can tell although I believe they have identified of course during a fade in the signal. 
The signal ranges from strong over the listening session to only heard briefly last night for only a few minutes, then gone.

On Sept 20 in Va Beach , while parked at the city maintenance lot adjacent to Oceana Navy Airstation  watching the FA 18 Super Hornet demo practice, I happened to catch a public service message loop on 1630 khz.
It's a very short loop, mentioning Newport News shipyard.  This sounds to be  DHS influenced content, due to the tropes used by them , such as " if you see something , say something" , " remain vigilant on and off the job"  " although no terrorist, elevated alert" .   I could not hear it at any other location once I left.   This is directed to shipyard workers in Newport News or Norfolk Air Station?,  25_30 miles from the receiving location of the intersection of Oceana Blvd and First Colonial rd , which is across the street from " Giant Killer" HF  some of you may be familiar with.

I could not find any references in FCC TIS  that would identify it.   There were no call letters , just the short loop.
I will record it next time .  Maybe someone can find this stations call letters and location .  It was on the weak side , signal strength was not strong in the area of NAS Oceana.  I gave up searching for this.  Maybe one of you can locate this in FCc.

Gospel Music , positive id  @ 345z. For a brief time very good signal, after that weak mixing with Unid language station and WRCR(?) playing Thin Lizzy Boys are back in town at one point
