The other day I went for a drive and took out my cell battery. It was pleasant knowing the only things tracking me were the Chinese satellites.

Fascinating. High tech to find stone age.

I barely heard "This is Radio True North" with morse code in the background. I thought it could have been somebody else. But there is that one song by the B52s...
Then, It came from Planet Claire is now legible!

Reception is barely there due to noise and propagation.  Thanks for a nice end of the week!

End of transmission and a "Thanks for the show Mudman." From a mysterious transmitterer.

I wouldn't mind a switch that deactivates driver's cell phones either.   ;D

And an automatic flatulence venting system in the seats would be nice.

Here's a video of a pyramid that turns hand claps into bird chirps:

Here's an article of a Peruvian structure that has acoustic properties that filter out sounds that are higher pitched than their conch shell horn:

Cool stuff.

Thanks, I see two shadowy parallel lines. Is that them?
Its a mind trip. Ancient human evidence that has been there for eons is covered up by modern humanity's population explosion.

Here's some food for paranoid thought:

-I'm pretty sure the new Ford Fusion hybrids have drive-by-wire brakes.  There is a latency between stepping on the brake and when the brakes activate.
-Drive-by-wire throttle basically turns the gas pedal into a "go button."  The cruise control on dodges is annoying because it doesn't keep it at the speed you selected in order to save gas.
-Electric power steering could theoretically be used to steer the vehicle without any of the driver's steering input.

=That makes a car that can be deactivated in a number of ways.

I wouldn't mind a 60mph speed limiter on cars in order to conserve fuel.

Cool story...a hill... in those parts only the hill-wise are fit to prosper. And also people with one leg longer than the other.

The faith phenomenon reminds me of a story my friend told me. He was stationed in Afghanistan and said every once in a while a shoulder launched rocket would be shot at the base.  But they wouldn't hit anything because the guys aim it in the general direction and let Allah's will find its target.

A cool transition from some guitar punkish stuff into electronic with female vocals

0428
off

Cool tunes, There was a reggae-like tune with a white-sounding guy singing.
The set ended with a relaxing song that had a catchy guitar solo.
I didn't hear any ID. I'm pretty sure I was here the whole time it was on.
There was a buzz when silence was transmitted but it went away when the music came on.

Thanks mysterious wonder. I'm going to sleep now.

There's a bonafide FM radio station here called "Pirate Radio". It sounds so dumb when they do their station ID like they're all bad.  "This is Pirate Radio" amongst the commercials...

The wisdom I gleaned from this thread is that royalties, cost of airtime, and a lack of content/personal time (on the part of the radio DJ)  seem to be the major factors to preventing people from using legit airtime.

We know the religious shows have excess money (they can afford to air shows that nobody listens to). I assume the shows come from a church that has a budget for "missionary work" or "spreading the gospel".

I assume the churches need listeners so I think the church would pay a person to make interesting/funny things to bring listeners to the main show. I'm thinking of 2min "commercials" of funny stuff not related to religion at all.
