I bet the curse is so strong because the dude in the hat has ectoplasm between his face and the camera. I bet its a spirit that has possessed him and is probably the reason he would bring stinky goats to baseball games.

Whoa, a curse.  I bet they can break it if they apologize and let stinky goats come to the games.

I had some time to catch a song that transitioned well into the next one.  I like when DJs do that.

I heard a weak music station. It was a poor copy, but I could tell it was music.

Equipment / Antenna diversity
« on: April 19, 2014, 0255 UTC »
To me fading is one of the biggest spoilers of radio shows.  There are multiple ways to avoid fading says wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antenna_diversity

spatial diversity
pattern diversity
polarization diversity
transmit/receive diversity
adaptive arrays

THIS guy has a bad ass setup with 5 computers hooked up to receivers in his shack. They can be controlled by one computer. And he has a pic of 2 SSTVs of a clown from the same transmission but different antennas: a vertically polarized antenna and a horizontally polarized antenna. One is way better than the other.
http://www.k3as.com/multiple_radios_and_antennas.html

Has anybody transmitted with antenna diversity?

Has anybody knowingly received a station transmitting with diversity?

I've got a bad feelin' about the moons.  At first I thought it meant lots of death because of the "blood." BUT, upon asking whatever it is I pray to for a translation of the moons: (drum roll)...I realized it could be a financial bad omen to the US govt!  Because it happened on April 15th (tax day), it was visible to all of America (kinda rare), and blood is red (as "in the red").

Huh? / Re: Sunglasses
« on: April 19, 2014, 0217 UTC »
I second the perv notion.  My old boss got some new dorky side covers for his sunglasses.  Then when he was instructing a customer how to do something, he was facing one way, but eyes were looking in another.  I think I saw through the crack in the top...

Low signal, but I can copy pretty good.

Two wrongs made a right

The sun has a while until it goes down. Something is different about this reception compared to other stations, it doesn't fade in and out, not that I can tell.

With the SSTV I unplugged my laptop from its charger half way through to see if the difference shows up on the SSTV picture.

Cool AM ID. Before this was a bit on the multiple uses of condoms.

Interference by the means of the song "dueling banjos". Yup, way better than last night. I whipped out my whip and it was listenable outside.
