HF Beacons / March 2018 heard in UT
« on: March 07, 2018, 0209 UTC »
Have been hearing the regulars of late, A, Windy, Haystack and occasionally when the prop cooperates have been hearing Coxie and 4 second plus or minus a second right by it.  I believe this is maybe the viking beacon?  Also Rainy, but no rocky, and Hexy2k.  Also have caught the 2008.4 ditter a couple of times of late.

This morning I was up early checking on the NDB band and caught ZN on 4070.6 at abt 1150 utc.

The new Y beacon on 4096.37 has not been heard in several days.  Might be because of prop.

Have not heard mini or either of the hikers recently.

HF Beacons / Feb 2018 logs and a new one!
« on: February 22, 2018, 1548 UTC »
Been hearing the regulars, A, haystack and ocassionally one of the other long dashers by it, Windy, Rainy, Hexy2k, Mini on 8000 that was doing real well last weekend and even the Marin ditter when I listen around 2200 utc.

Have also been hearing a new one on about 4096.550 +/- sending a "Y" in CW.  The last dash of the Y is a little longer than the first 2.  Heard both in the evening and the mornings

Has anyone copied Rocky or Rainy on 6626 recently?  Its been a couple of weeks at least since I last heard them.  Have tried a nearby receiver on the global tuners with no copy there either.

Thanks, Mark

HF Beacons / My evening/morning heard list
« on: June 16, 2017, 1225 UTC »
Conditions have not been good.  But with the longest day of the year this Tuesday maybe it can gradually start changing. (maybe)
Heard this morning was

A on 2097 as usual, but it has had a few days where I struggled to hear it!
ZT on abt 4070 around 1105 utc, came up out of the noise several times but conditions to it went down hill.
Lots of QSB on Haystack on abt 4096.350, there was another signal nearby but not able to ID it.
And of course Windy was doing fine, not much wind while I was listening, TMP went from 79 to 81 and the battery was a strong 12.8 from over night so its doing great.  If I took the time and had a break in the noise I should be able to hear it during the day.

Daytime have been hearing rocky, rainy, and Hexy2k.  Have not heard the Marin ditter in awhile, which is not surprising, ya gotta be listening when the prop builds to it.

HF Beacons / Marin Ditter and Daytime beacons
« on: May 03, 2017, 2124 UTC »
I am hearing the Marin Ditter again this afternoon on ~8193.5 +/-.  I usually hear it during my mid-afternoon around 2100 utc.  Have not heard the one just above it at around 8193.8 for a long time.  It was a dasher that shifted freq making it look like a backward J on the Argo screen.  Spring is usually the best time of the year for me to hear these.

The 6626 Rocky, Rainy and the mystery ditter all do well in the late morning here and late afternoon before sunset.  They seem to start out a little low in freq and then move up after a couple of hours.  Rocky and Rainy have gotten strong enough to actually move the S meter on the R-75.

6700.4 Hexy2K  dasher is also an afternoon beacon for me and its quite regular as well.

After seeing Jim's post, in March I think, about the Ditter on 5824.4 l started looking for it and when I hear it is usually in the morning.  I had forgot about this one.

That's the only 6, 7, or 8 Mhz beacons I have been hearing here recently.
