Turns out the operator of YHWH is or was a licensed ham in California

Let's try again for ANOTHER Montana DX Test!

I posted on Facebook that the KBOZ DX Test had been cancelled and engineer Todd Clark in Kalispell, MT offered up one of his stations for a test.

KJJR 880 Whitefish, MT(Kalispell) will test for 1 hour at 10kw non directional Saturday May 2nd 12:01am to 1am mountain time. It will consist of morse code, sweep tones, along with various telephone sound effects

There will be no paper QSL's issued for this test. Only emailed confirmation. Send an email to walkerbroadcasting@gmail.com with "KJJR 880 DX Test" in the email (You MUST put that in that subject line so I don't accidentally delete it thinking its spam!). The reply will likely be a simple email reply with details of the station and confirming the details of what/when you heard it. You WILL get a reply from me in due course, please give me some time!

This is done on short notice and being kept simple as to not burden anyone involved. Thanks to Les Rayburn for creating the test material and Todd Clark for generously offering up the station. I've already seen communication between him and the station, asking them to block out an hour from the logs, so he can tinker around with things at the tower site.

I know, I know.. we've had a few false starts on DX tests, but I can only do what I can do.

Unfortunately, this one has been cancelled after the stations lawyers asked that the transmitter be turned off.   I'll make another post with new details of another test i've arranged

MW Loggings / DX TEST: KBOZ 1090 Bozeman, MT Wed Apr 29th and Fri May 1st!

KBOZ 1090 Bozeman MT will run a 10 minute test at 530am  and 950pm mountain time Wednesday April 29th and Friday May 1st.  The test will be done with 1250 Watts non directional and last 10 minutes each time. The test will consist of a few KBOZ jingles along with morse code, sweep tones and telephone sound effects.

The station is on the air right now to keep the license alive after being silent for nearly a year when prior owner Reier Broadcasting ran into financial trouble. 

There will be no paper QSL's issued for this test. Only emailed confirmation. It's battling against high noise levels tonight, but the music's audible here.

Playing Cars' song, then ID at 0314 UTC and shoutout to Paul Walker Jr. in synth voice repeated three times.

0315 UTC: "Moving in Stereo" by The Cars

Anyone happen to record that? I missed it, am tuning between the AM and SW bands tonight

Got the 6900khz USB signal here in Laramie, WY with some kind of rock n roll at 0252UTC  probably S5 signal or so, with some noise and fading.. signal is getting a little better at times.

Got the 6900khz USB signal here in Laramie, WY with some kind of rock n roll at 0252UTC  probably S5 signal or so, with some noise and fading.. signal is getting a little better at times.

0254UTC Sun sep 15 in Laramie, WY pretty good signal... not much fading or noise.  I'd say S7 or so

I've heard progresso and rebelde on several medium wave frequencies here in Wyoming
