4:05 4:14 z tuned into very old time music - 20's - 30's ? , audio suggest old 78's or older cylinder recordings.
Signal S6 - S8 good audio levels for music, relatively good listening considering the fades and storm static.
4:14 - 4:17 z Male talking, possible ID? -low audio levels? - could not make out a word he said.
4:17 - 4:43 z Same genre music
4:43  4:44 z Op talking , same as before, some talk over music, ID? Off at 4:44z

I possibly have logged this station before but do not have my older logs, QLS's or recordings  anymore?

Nice AM sig ~18 khz wide  S7 - S9  plenty of summer static

3:10 z tuned into Pleasant laid back music,  several numbers by so far sound like same (UNID by me) artist , male vocalist, a lot of electronic sounds.

NO ID's heard by me - Off at 3:19 z

Nice signal, music, and and modulation.

6926 khz AM  S6 - S7  -120 to -130 dBm noise floor  -95 to -90 dBm Carrier - modulation weak?
3:58  - 4:01 ut  Caught bits of Patsy Cline "Cheating Heart"
4:01 - 4:08 ut ? bits of audio - UNID song - songs
4:08 - 4:11 ut Lennon "Imagine" just abouve the static
4:11 - 4:14 ut "Brown Eyed Girl"
4:14 -  UNID audio
4:24 ut Announcer Talking? ID?

I'm getting a lot of SSB (Pescadores) & digital (3 khz wide DRM like) interference in this AM sigs upper side band.
Tried AMS and blocking the USB but the lower side band seems to have the weakest modulation? Deja Vu last nights 6925 AM UNID....

General Radio Discussion / Re: Solar Flare poses huge threat
« on: June 29, 2013, 0603 UTC »
A large CME can wreck havoc on various electrical systems but most of the time they just produce really nice light shows in the sky.
Especially for those of us that live in dark rural areas 45 deg north latitude or less.
Like Tonight -
5:40 z  29 June 13
I'm Seeing some nice bright auroras here in Central Montana tonight. One bright band is actually South of my location right now
Activity Level 10 tonight. This is not from a CME but from a Coronal Hole that has been facing earth the last few days.

This does not seem to be effecting MW - HF  reception as far as I can tell...
Think I'll grab a brew and go out and enjoy the show...

6925 khz
4:17 ut can just make out the song "Blinding Me With Science"
I've been watching this for a while but this is the first time I'm getting enough modulation to hear anything.
There is and has been occasional SSB traffic in both the upper and lower sidebands of this AM signal.
4:27 - 4:28 ut carrier faded away completely.
4:29 ut back but very weak - can't hear much less ID music anymore.

« on: June 28, 2013, 0505 UTC »
