Tuning around 11m band 27 MHz band this morning, noted strong POCSAG paging signals on 27.845 MHz 27845 kHz, nearly nonstop.

I checked 26.945 MHz, 26.960 MHz and others and they're quiet.

Now there's an off-frequency POCSAG signal centered on 27.847 MHz or 27.8475 MHz or 27.848 MHz.  Tunes fine on 27.850 MHz.  Noted POCSAG activity on 27.855 MHz as well.  Seems like 27850 kHz 27.85 MHz is the "center" frequency.

Heard at approx. 1125 UTC on May 25 2023 via G8JNJ SDR in Wessex, UK.

Fair to good signal on 27.7500 MHz FM [CSQ].  Some QRM from UK FM CB on 27.75125 MHz FM and SSB activity on 27.745 MHz and 27.755 MHz.  Weak POCSAG pager paging signal on 27.75 MHz as well.

Asian fishery radio 27.975 MHz FM 27975 kHz FM 27.9750 MHz FM [CSQ]

Noted the usual Asian fishermen radio chatter on 29.875 MHz FM, but they're also on 27.975 MHz FM.  I imagine they're also operating within 10 meters.

Yep, they've also active on 27.750 MHz FM, 27.925 MHz FM, 29.775 MHz FM, 29.825 MHz FM, 29.875 MHz FM, 29.950 MHz FM, 29.975 MHz FM, 30.000 MHz FM and others.

Yesterday afternoon I did some VHF low scanning, California Highway Patrol was booming in, among many other users.  Also heard a fair amount of above 30 MHz Latin American traffic (mostly taxi cabs).   Fort Hood, Texas Range Control on 30.450 MHz FM [150.0 Hz tone squelch] was also full scale.  SNOTEL data on 40.670 MHz FM [CSQ] and the BNSF rail data link system was going nuts on 44.580 MHz FM [CSQ]

34.1500 MHz FM [150 Hz] Had a strong FM signal on it, with that little 150Hz hum in the background, but no audio that I could make out.  Signal was there for well over an hour (this is around 2:00 in the afternoon US Eastern time, in downtown Richmond VA).   I did manage to get a few video clips of it, along with some of the other activity.

In the past I've heard somebody left the radio on transmit mode before - usually on the 30.000 MHz frequency, but 34.15 FM is a new one for me.  I will do some digging and see if that's a known range control, etc. frequency at a US military base.

Heard in Richmond, VA around 11:00 local time (1600 UTC).

Here is some of the transmissions caught on video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWmtrt0P96Q

Note that the receiver in question (RadioShack Pro-651, also known as the Pro-106, GRE PSR-500 and Whistler WS1040) decodes the PL tone (CTCSS tone, tone squelch) as 151.4 Hz.  They are using 150.0 Hz, but 150.0Hz is not a civilian tone so its not included in any of these types of radios...and 151.4Hz is the closest to 150 Hz.

This is the best I've heard Fort Hood Range Control in a while.

120
32.1800 MHz FM is very active today.  Costa Rican taxi cab company using CTCSS (PL) tones 77.0 Hz and 141.3 Hz both active on 32.180 MHz 32180 kHz FM.

Received in Richmond, VA using handheld scanner receivers and a simple telescopic whip antenna.
