Station calling CQ on 6895 kHz LSB / 6.895 kHz LSB "hello frequency!  attention frequency attention frequency good evening" etc.

2462
Spanish language chatter right below the bottom edge of 40 meters (reminds me of the guys using 6999 kHz USB or 6998 kHz LSB, etc).

Weak stations with lots of storm crashes and OTH Radar blasts.

2463
More pescadore (fishermen, fishing fleets chatting away in the 6765-7000 kHz range) traffic on 6975 kHz USB, further use of the USB mode instead of the customary LSB for peskies.

6940 USB 6.940 MHz USB more use of the USB mode on another popular pirate frequency.  SIO 222 to SIO 444, with several stations talking over each other (reminds me of 6925 kHz LSB or 6900 kHz LSB at points).

2055 UTC - clip from "Full Metal Jacket"

"I think I was trying to say something about the duality of man, SIR!"
"what?"

2057 UTC - One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer
2101 UTC - I'm gonna get high man, gonna get loose...need me a triple shot of that juice Signal up to S7 with peaks to S8 armchair copy!
2105 UTC - Machine gun sound effect into Surfin' Bird with helicopter flyover sounds (more Full Metal Jacket clips)
2108 UTC - Van Halen - I'll Wait (another Amphetamine Radio staple) - signal dropped down a tiny bit to S5 with peaks to S6
2112 UTC - The Moody Blues - Tuesday Afternoon (another signal strength jump right back up to S9!)

As usual, a bit of fading but still armchair copy.  Nice wide AM signal and great audio from Relay Station (or is it The Relay Station ?)

The Relay Station 5200 kHz AM / 5.200 MHz AM 21 April 2017

Tuned back in at 2014 UTC to hear the opening notes of "Mississippi Queen" much better audio than earlier nice strong signal with some minor fades and static crashes.

I do have an extra export radio (or two) laying around that can cover the frequencies in question (I'd just have to get an autokeyer and a little power supply).

Sounds a lot easier than messing with a pager transmitter :D

Tuned in at 1653 to hear "More Than A Feeling" by Boston at S4 (S5 peaks).  Noisy but readable.  Good copy on peaks.

6880 kHz 6.880 MHz USB mode Spanish speaking stations

UNNRN has long since disappeared from frequency 6880 kHz.  At least two OMs chatting on 6880 USB with very heavy fading making the content of their conversation difficult to make out...but there's certainly a QSO on the frequency and its certainly in Spanish.

2470
Spanish-speaking freebanders using a popular pirate radio frequency  :o 6950 kHz USB, although considering their heavy use of 6900 kHz USB and LSB, 6950 kHz makes a bit of sense.

Typical freebander-like chatter.  Talking about radios, etc.  "este radio es fuerte!"  One of the stations is way down in the noise while the other is a decent SIO 333 or so.  Still quite early for these signals although I've noticed they pop up any hour of of the day or night.

2471
High energy dance/techno music 6925 kHz USB S3-S4 signal but readable this morning

off around 1508 or 1509

2472
Spanish speaking OMs reading numbers "de Norte" and then repeating them several times.  Possibly an ID or even grid square coordinates....or maybe not..now he's whistling into the mic.  Sounds like more freebanders

2473
Weak Spanish language chatter heard (another interesting frequency!)

2474
Slightly weaker signals than the stations chatting simultaneously on 6900 USB.

2475
Carrier appeared on 6880 kHz.  No audio heard yet (checking various SDRs) but the carrier is certainly there.

At 1448, some very weak audio there with static crashes.
