I've been reading a bit online about FM crystals working in AM radios. Can anyone chime in on that? I have a vintage Lafayette 5w 3 channel walkie talkie that I'd love to use. Thanks you

Part 15 AM and FM Station Operation / Re: Part 15 AM and FM

I'm using an  Eclipse 4000 to broadcast music in a 40k sq ft building. It's a huge antique/ vintage mall, and it was the best solution I could come up with. It sounds great FM stereo frequency range from 87.5 to 108MHz.

Thanks for the replies! I was wondering if those baofeng FM programmable units would work, but I reckon they don't get to 27mhz. I will be looking for the models recommend. All the best, and stay healthy! From San Diego

10/11 meters / Trying to understand and set up galaxy 2 1st post

Hello all, I have a galaxy 2 radio that I picked up used a few years ago. (looks like this)https://rigreference.com/storage/uploads/rigs/24/4761/galaxy-ii.jpg I can't find any information or manuals for it online. To make matters worse (or better depending on the quality of work) I believe someone's added a knob/pot to it, which I'm not sure exactly what it does. It's not extra channels because it rotates smoothly, and doesn't change the frequency counter. I set up a president base station next to it to see if I could figure it out. Seems to as I dial it up the signal distorts on on the president. So maybe an amplifier? Another thing I'm trying to understand is; the FM switch. Is the FM UHF? I'm wondering if I can get some FM walkie talkies that would work with this radio. Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you!
