The big signal on 880 at night here in Michigan is 50kw WCBS out of NYC.
Been trying for KRVN in Nebraska but they beam away from me at night.
However, did manage to snag lowly 1800 watt daytimer WPIP Winston-Salem NC
in the null of WCBS and under WRFD Columbus OH once on sunrise skip.

Good to hear you are back at your real QTH.   :)

If RG213 is what you have, go ahead and use it,  but be aware that at the higher frequency (440) you will lose
nearly half your power in a 50' run.  9913 has much lower loss but is hard to work with due to the stiff #10 solid
center conductor.  RG8/U Belden 8237 would be a good compromise, easier to work with and less loss than RG213.
RG6 is another possibility if the 75 ohm impedance isn't an issue.

Low Pass Filter
Does exactly what it says...  passes everything below the stop band.
PAR Electronics makes a nice one...  BCST-LPF.
The filter stop band begins at 540 kc, so it passes everything
below that frequency and stops signals above that frequency.

Thanks for the suggestions...
However, got C&W format CFCO just the other side of Lake St. Clair on 630 between me and RI.
CFCO puts a huge signal into here.
WXYT blankets this area with a 50kw signal on 1270 day and night.  Its call letters used to be WXYZ.
It had a long history here with that call.  WXYZ along with then WJBK (1500) were the big
top 40 rockers in the Detroit market back in the 60s until then WKNR (1310) and "The Big 8"
CKLW (800) took over that market segment. WXYZ changed call letters to WXYT sometime back in the 80s
when it went to a talk (hence the "T") format.  Always has seemed strange to me that they dropped
that iconic WXYZ call.
Oh well, just a little Detroit radio history...

New England is a tough catch for some reason here in Michigan.
That was my first Vermont.  Have never heard RI, NH, or ME.

WVMT AM 620 Burlington VT  @ 1015Z 5kw
Been chasing this one the past couple of mornings,
got lucky and was able to pull it out of the muddle.
Vermont is elusive here in Michigan and this frequency is usually
covered here by WTMJ in Milwaukee.

I wish they'd address the jamming of the broadcast bands with IBOC and cheap electronics.

WWL "The Big 870" with a big signal into Michigan @1130Z,
listening to the "Outdoors with Don Dubuc" show talking about
redfish and trout fishing.

You probably heard it, WWL is the big dog on 870 at night.  Its signal is beamed northward, not
wasted heating up the Gulf of Mexico.  Anyway, it is a nice catch from Seattle.  :)

PAR EF-SWL for MW-HF and discone for VHF-UHF would be my choices.
Go to Universal Radio site and look around, they have all you need,
antennas, coax, connectors, adapters, etc.
Be sure to take into consideration lightning protection and grounding.

Amateur Radio / Re: UHF/VHF repeater activity

Usually somebody listening on 146.52 around the metro region here.
Give a long enough call so that if they are scanning a bunch of repeaters
along with .52 you will be heard.

Anyone who participates in the UHF/VHF, Please post your contacts good or bad so that I can live through you vicariously. I don't currently have those capabilities. Thanks

You probably didn't miss anything.  Nothing heard on 6M here but then my 6 meter set up is, shall we say, lacking.
The big guns undoubtedly made contacts... keep an eye on QST for results...  probably some amazing numbers.
IMHO, an odd time of year for a VHF contest.

KBCK, KNND, KJDY, KART are all good guesses.
Problem is that 1400 being a "graveyard" frequency the signal
could be from almost anywhere.   :-\
