Al,I was watching a PBS show on penguins the other night. It seems they've made it to the Galapagos Islands, just north of the equator. If they've made it that far,is it long before they sneak ashore in Pismo Beach in great swarms, disguised as oversized grunion?

When TCS first re-emerged they were using a MARS/AFRS net frequency in the region just above the 90 meter broadcast band. The frequency was used by a net for the Chesapeake Bay region. This was when the Bunny was curious about TCS and who it was and I was getting regular calls from him about the station.

I told him I didn't know who the guy was,but the guy was tx'ing on a mil-com net frequency and would be short lived if he stayed there.

Interestingly, the guys in the net would chuckle about "that pirate" when TCS signed on and move to an adjacent frequent.

Somehow, possibly secret Fansomian technology probing my brain,TCS got word about the net and found another frequency on that band.

Davey Jones and Mickey Dolenz did most of the singing.

Hendrix played a number of dates on that tour as back up to the Monkees. It was very surreal to observe in person.

The Boyce Hart Band made a cameo appearance on "I Dream of Jeannie" just before the Monkees TV gig started. "Pop Psychedelica" with is how I'd describe them. They always reminded of a lighter weight Bobby Fuller Four.

Check yer pm for the location,Fanny.

I was wondering why the local college station was playing "Bad Motor Scooter" yesterday? It was out of left field for for their format.

I saw the Hagar fronted Montrose several times in the mid-70's. When they were on,they were the best of their kind.

RIP Ronnie.

The first rock concert I saw was the Monkees. (In reality it was the Boyce and Hart Band, with boys on elevated stage in front of them pretending to play their instruments.)

The Monkees blew after hearing the opening act, a little trio called the Jimi Hendrix Experience, who'd made big news at the Monterrey Pop Festival the year before.

A Hallicrafters S-120 a cousin gave me when he was drafted in the early/mid 60's. It had one of those fancy "vfo's" that only worked if the ssb station was really strong and there was nothing on the band near it. Otherwise,it howled when engaged.

I still have it. In fact it's the only radio I ever heard Radio Eclipse on when that station was active.
