Do you have a recording?  I was told about this in text, but was not near a radio to hear it first hand.  It seems like this was S06.  It was supposed to be E06, starting at 1630 UTC, but apparently it ran the S06 voice instead.  Both the 06 and 07 families are know to have this accident from time to time.

What you are describing is pretty open to interpretation.  Since you posted I have left a receiver on the frequency, so far have not heard the signal.

Nice find, wish I had recorded it.

Sounds faked / pirate / hoax to me.  In addition to all the reasons ~SIGINT~ points out, it just sounds wrong and forced.  And the voice is synthetic, something you don't find on HFGCS.

And that leads me to why I wish I had recorded it.  I have lots of faked / hoax signals in my recordings, but never faked HFGCS traffic.

This is not an OTHR.

I don't know what it is, specifically, but for a variety of reasons (features of or missing from the signal) I know it is almost certainly not a radar.  Or if it is (since almost any signal can be) a radar it is an extraordinarily poorly designed one.  I suspect it is data of some kind, but to get a better handle on what it is would require a different recording, preferably an IQ recording or an audio recording in FM or SSB (I prefer USB) that captures both "carriers" and everything between them.

Not sure what this is -- it sounds different, and looks more fine-grained, than radars I've heard before, but I'm no expert.

Also, on 7200 LSB, there's a continuous beep-beep in the background.  I know this frequency is heavily QRMed, but this sounds very similar to ALE to me.

Without recordings, date and time in UTC, or a bit more description, there is no way to know what you are describing.

As for the radar, a bit before you posted this the Russian 29B6 radar was on that frequency.  However I don't know how long before you posted this you heard what you heard and it was not on that freq at the time this was posted.

Heard the Testing announcement, and flipped the source over to the house sound system.  Not super strong into the Mojave Desert tonight, S 7 or so, but perfectly usable.

Anyone notice the OIP2 and OIP3 numbers on that site?  I may just be a bit of a skeptic, but I don't think that thing is doing anything but sparking at the stated "90 dBm" (1 million Watts).
