And redhat- thank god for the pirates. They are then current low powered nod to the only 2 stations which played great music and made SW interesting. Don't get me wrong- some other stations today are interesting. BBC- a prime example.

WAIT- why the hell can't you broadcast to the USA from the USA?? Thats stupid. But C'Mon- KUSW paid for it. Or Why doesn't WWCR or WBCQ start using the Shortwave for a good reason- rather then this utterly boring religious crap and start playing music!! That would get more listeners I figure than their current programs. For God's sake- SW mainly consists of 100 different religious stations, 100 different CRI stations and The voice of greece. And then the pirates. Thats it. No wonder no one listens to SW, because it pretty boring sometimes. Music would certainly liven it up!

The SW bands are dying from all these boring religious yapps. We need good classic rock back on SW! Granted In this day in age classic rock on the shortwave wouldn't last long, but wouldn't it be nice to hear Led Zeppelin or the who etc... On shortwave again?? Come on- its worth a shot to save shortwave. GOD BLESS THE PIRATES- dont get me wrong, but it's not always easy to pick them up. A nice powerful USA station would be great. Some one has to agree with me!

Found a great site called radiodiscussions.com. It's just like the hf here, but mainly does the MW & FM broadcast bands. It's all set up by market area. Theres tons of great threads going on there. Defenetly a great place to join and browse around! But just so you know- not as many there seem to be as radio learned as we all here. But don't let that stop you. It really is a great place!!

That's funny! I'm guessing they're running a legal part 15 transmitter. Meaning they are running .1 watts. Ask them for a QSL;)

Voice of Elmer hasn't appeared in 8 months (according to my radio log-book). I'd love to let you know when they're on again- but I suspect its very low poweed because the signal was only an S4 and elmer, New Jersey is just about 30 miles south of me. That's gonna be a HUGE challenge for you, but I'm sure your all but willing to accept it!!

530 has many part 15 stations on it, and also some pirates. I'm not saying that that is what you caught, but could help you out sinc eits hard to ID 15's and pirates. I've caught 2 pirates on 530 before ( voice of elmer (a town south of me by 30 miles) and somebody re-transmitting the local noaa weather radio).
