IMHO, quad shield RG6 is rarely needed for ham/SWL applications and can be a bit difficult to work with getting a nice crimp.
OTOH, typical hardware store variety F connectors, crimper, and dual shield foil/braid RG6 work well
together, are cheap, readily available, and all you need for everyday ham/SWL use.
If you do a lot of RG6, check out the Belden Snap-N-Seal connectors and crimpers. They cost more
but do a pro job.

The decommissioning continues, coming up on phase 7 of 12, but still plenty of Canadians to be heard.

DDP booms in here when the propagation is right but it is an all or nothing affair.
Otherwise OO holds down the 391 spot (IIRC it runs less than 10 watts)... big signal for so little power.

Finally managed to log this one, 254 MB Manistee County MI (MBL) after years of trying.
While regularly hearing 365 TV Traverse City and 336 MA Cadillac (miskeys as MET) in the same region,
Manistee remained elusive. Have to assume that the poor soil conductivity (sandy) around Manistee may have something to do with it.
Be aware that another beacon also identified as MB is located at Saginaw MI (MBS) (aka Tri-City)
and is only about 120 miles and 3kc (257) away from Manistee

The Legend with a nice signal tonight... wish they would play more of the old stuff though.
Otherwise, 640 usually just a jumble here but Mexican format WMFN Peotone IL (south of Chicago) occasionally
breaking through tonight with 1.6kw of power.

Seems like local WCAR AM 1090 is off the air... nothing but noise.
WBAL started coming in quite nicely on the car radio just after 1600 EST,
probably still on their omnidirectional pattern.
Tonight, however, KAAY owns the 1090 spot on the dial on the portable here in the shack.

Got our first accumulating snowfall of the season Saturday/Sunday as well... had to shovel a couple inches of the heavy white stuff off of the driveway.
