HAS anyone listened to the Tropical Band radio frequencies?..I have heard american voice, shipshow , so far, nice and loud, will put in frequencies tmrw...

ANYONE hear the oldies nightly on 1220 around 0400 nightly, they play one after another very,very loud in here<INDIANA> , the MW directory lists wgny in NEW YORK but lists only 180 watts and this certainly isn't 180 watts more like 10 thousand...they read s9 plus nightly..

What would be a not to expensive longwave rcvr for beacons 540khz and below..I believe rat shack made a table top shortwave rcvr at one time which had air craft band on it forbeacons..

Anyone have one of these and your thoughts on this portable . I looked at the reviews and not bad, also it has ssb on it, which the grundig traveller g8 does not. I do believe the ssb should be on a sw radio for much communications is in ssb and many of the pirate stns are on ssb.
