Latin American Pirate / Golden Instrumentals 6145v AM 0445 UTC 10 JAN 2023

Exact frequency is 6145.24 kHz. S9 with the PY2GN KiwiSDR in Brazil. Modulation a little too high. Nothing on KiwiSDRs in North America, probably a fairly local station to the PY2GN and PY2-81502 KiwiSDRs in the São Paulo area.

0445 UTC-Male robot voice “Golden Instrumentals, where you hear the greatest instrumentals of all time”

A nice departure from the usual format of Brazilian pirates! I hope this is a new regular pirate, I would like to continue hearing it. I am going to leave the recorder going over night, QRM from Asia might get bad in the morning but I guess I will find out.

Shortwave Broadcast / China Radio International via Cuba 13650 AM 2345 UTC 8 JAN 2023

Signal is 8/10 on the meter with the 30ish feet of wire in a tall tree. I have heard about these weird broadcasts, only Chinese instrumental music from 2300-0000 UTC with an announcement at 2358 UTC in Portuguese. As far as I know this is the only music-only program on CRI. Curious if they really have people listening to this is Brazil (the target area), or anywhere. I personally enjoy it but the only other time I have heard about this specific program was someone complaining about it in the Worldwide DX Club News and calling it something like "the pointless Chinese elevator music broadcast I often complain about".

For those who haven't already seen, I have an extensive archive of recordings of pirate stations and many other things on shortwave and other bands. I mostly use KiwiSDR receivers to hear may things I cannot hear from my location, but I occasionally post recordings of stations heard on my Sony ICF-2010. I think you will be pleasantly surprised! I record almost everything of interest I hear.
