I completely agree with running all the time... Perseus has been recording continuously for over 120 hours on this last set. It is indeed interesting what propagation is doing.

I only wish that all stations would be on their own frequency instead of sharing.

There were 90 decodes from 05:08:04 to 05:09:52, so it wasn't 100%, but close.

I think that missing decodes from both stations (05:07:54-05:08:04 and 05:09:52-05:10:19) are from when the two were interfering with each other and disruption each other's transmissions.


Looks like similar pattern with Kensington & Sheboygan, Cape Canaveral & Driver, and St Louis & Youngstown. Even the brief time that St Louis was on, it dominated the frequency blocking Youngstown.

For now, I think a text file would be fine. Then we can see how valuable that data is. If not, then not a lot of time invested.

Also need a way to tie the entry to the decode file. If the timestamps were unique, that's easy, but could have several decodes per second.

Can you also add in logging on what frequency was found? Would like to know how accurate it is and if its drifty.

I realize that may add an enormous amount of entries for various freqs, but maybe do some statistical analysis on what it should be on, vs what you've found (min, max, mean, std dev, et al).

9580 has been a very strong signal here for decades (except for when the sun is up to no good).

I moved it here, as 5125 isn't WBCQ and probably is a pirate relay since it seems to have different signal strengths for some (I have neither 5125 nor 5130 here). Plus, why would WBCQ be on 5130 & 5125 (or any legal broadcaster relaying 5130 on 5125)?
