REPEAT of April 5, which follows from yesterday's repeat of April 4, and the previous day's repeat of April 3.

First noted at 1115 UTC, but still on as of 1217z as I type this with English language broadcast underneath (CRI per eibi).

REPEATING 04 APR's NUMBER SETS AND FILES. Which comes a day after they rebroadcast 03 APR's numbers. And which, like then, shows a two-day progression in the final digits of the number sets. So at least they're being consistent. (Until they do something inconsistent again...)

QSLs Received / Re: Akashvani QSL - 13 Jan
« on: April 10, 2024, 2236 UTC »
I might need to try to copy them and submit a report. I have an AIR QSL from seven or eight years ago, but haven't really bothered with reception reports in recent years as it had seemed most of the major SWBC stations still on the air have all either gone to eQSL's or basically nothing at all (looking at you, KBC World Radio).

Huh? / Re: Eclipse Shot
« on: April 10, 2024, 2234 UTC »
Really nice photo.

Here in Denver I think it was about 68%, which was less than the August 2017 eclipse for us (I think that one was nearly 80% here), but because spring is cooler than summer, we really noticed a temperature drop here too. I had gone out in shirtsleeves and needed a hoodie during the peak.

REPEATING 03 APRIL'S NUMBER SETS AND FILES.

When the broadcast came the on air, it was initially RHC for about a minute, then silence, then the old Windows startup sounds which I personally haven't heard in a long time (probably going back five years, around the time I gave up logging HM01 due to its monotonous repetition), and then this, a week old transmission.

EDIT: I checked in at 2100 UTC on 11635 kHz and 2200 UTC on 10715 kHz, and for both hours they were broadcasting RHC only.

Listening on KPH kiwi SDR, YL and OM speaking Spanish in what I believe are Mexican accents. Interesting catch both because of LSB mode and the fact that I had just been sitting here after catching V13 numbers station on the same frequency at 1300 UTC (but in USB mode).

Nice catch.

Normal one day progression, following a day where it had repeated the prior day's number sets. Only one day of repetition isn't so bad.

This myth is really annoying. Many, many SOH frequencies are not jammed and I hear them regularly here. If it’s on an offset frequency, it’s SOH. Their programming is also easily distinguished from CRI. Trust me, try tuning in on 6900 or 6970 and you will hear them.

It's not much of a myth. Most of what Paul says is verifiably true. That said, this particular report could be a genuine copy given the QTH of both receivers. But the details are lacking. Ron from California copies it regularly but he also provided details that allow us to know that he really copied SOH, such as station ID (which he knows in Mandarin) and the lack of TOTH time pips, which CNR1 (not CRI - they use CNR1 to jam) always has. This one merits additional questioning.

BTW, if there's anything to be annoyed with, it's the posting of clandestine stations like SOH under the regular shortwave broadcast station board. It happens a lot.
