North American Shortwave Pirate / WEZL 6925 LSB 1635 UTC 22 JAN 2022

I'm hearing some spacey new age music, a lot like the stuff that WEZL was putting out last night.

Got to the party a little late.  Hearing "Seasons Don't Fear the Reaper" starting at 2132.  S5 on a Kansas based SDR.  Not much fading.

93
They're still out out there. I found their weak signal about 2100 today.  S5 with fading into western New York.  I'm still wondering why they're using USB.

94
I caught it too. They weren't on very long.  The skit took place in Saskatchewan and they announced station CHIT.

Found it at 2338 on a Pennsylvania SDR. S7 but lots of QRN.

96
Great signal on an SDR in Maryland.  9/9.  Radio play,  clearly War of the Worlds with the broadcast from Grover's Mill, NJ.

97
Found it at 2210 playing "Go Your Own Way" on an SDR in Maryland. Really weak. Maybe a 2/2. Faded into oblivion by 2220.

Pirate Radio History / What about that mail drop in Hilo, Hawaii?
« on: October 17, 2021, 2153 UTC »
I remember back in the 80's there was as PO Box in Hilo, Hawaii where you could write for QSL's.  It was almost universal with the shortwave pirates.  Are they still in business?  Does anyone know the history of that, or who was operating it?

I'm watching it right now.  I didn't know about this video, but what a blast from the past!

I found this at 0004 with Fleetwood Mac "Gypsy", "Dreams" started about 0009.  Music is coming through strong with a S6. But the OM announcing is too weak for me to understand.

Tonight I'm experimenting with the online KiwiSDR receiver at KD4HSO. I believe his rig is in Nebraska.

0014 -  just started a digital transmission.

S9+ here in western New York.  Strong and clear like a commercial broadcaster.

Stumbled on this one about 2134. About S7 into western New York.  Playing pop music,  Jason Mars?

Got to the party at 23:56. Listening to the Eye of the Tiger monologue now.  5 - 9 signal here in Western New York.
