European Pirates and Private Stations / RealMix Radio 6185 kHz from Finland is on air nonstop through Xmas

Finnish licensed SW-station RealMix Radio is on air 24h nonstop from 21.12. to 25.12.2024.
Frequency 6185 kHz with 100 Watts carrier power.

This legal station is run by 17y old student with professional selfmade tx/px-output.
Very possible to hear in also USA during darktime.

Shortwave Broadcast / RealMix Radio from Finland on 6195 kHz

Please try to hear Finnish legal SW-station RealMix Radio on 6195 kHz.
It is on the air on all weekends 24h and comes now loud here.
The power is 100 Watts AM.
The station is run by 17 year old operator with legal license from the authorities.

VHF/UHF Logs, including satellites and radiosondes / UNID African STL-link 33.405 MHz

Please monitor frequency 33.405 MHz. On 17.2.2023 at 1540z (audible 15 min) I heard FM-modulated STL-link from somewhere in Africa and it might be from Comoros Islands. Here is an audio-clip: https://harriku.com/audio2023/UNID_33.405_MHz_2023-02-17.mp3

Shazam recognized the first title of this clip to be 'Papa L'amour' - "Ndjema Zaouwana Tsizo". And Youtube told it is famous classic title in Comoros and that the language is shikomor (=shimasiwa). So perhaps this is STL-link from Comoros.

In the clip there is a short announcement at the end and the last word sounds to be "ulezi". There is Radio Ulezi in Comoros.
But of course this could be from anywhere. Sounds clearly African anyway.

Distance from South Finland to Comoros is 8200 km. At the same time with this I heard many Fire-/EMS-stations from US East Coast between 33-34 MHz (about 6400 km distance) and those were around this mysterious station.

Anybody has contacts to Comoros?

VHF/UHF Logs, including satellites and radiosondes / Help to identify US Fire/EMS -stations 33-34 MHz?

Hello from Finland.

F2 is now giving Fire-/EMS-signals from US East Coast to Finland between 33 - 34 MHz. I can hear those EMS-/Fire stations every day aroud 15utc for about 2h period.
I heard those already 10 years ago but I have lost my data and knowledge.

All stations skips from around 6-7 states from 6200 - 6800 km distance around New York.

1) What is the best source and way to make searches by frequency / state?
In these searches the only thing I know at the start is frequency.
Then I can hear and understand some city- and streetnames and possibly quick callsign ids.

2) Is there a subtone -data available? (=What station is using certain subtone signal)

3) What is  the best and realiable software to id and convert subtone frequency?

4) Anybody willing to help to ID these stations from audiofiles?

Thank you for the photos and info. Yes, I mean the east coast...
Very interesting to read that the authorities first like to give warnings than make raids!

I am curious to make a article of US pirate radio. So, could you put a mail and I will contact you privately?
I do not know where from to find your email.

I have visited pirates in many countries and there is own history, background and culture in all of them on illegal broadcasting.
Those meanful things usually comes from the happenings after war around 50's-60's and also state's role in broadcasting.
It seems that illegal brodcasting in USA is more based on ham operators as SSB is more in use.
Here in Finland or even in Europe I have never heard SSB-station, all in AM.

Thank you very much of this clear clarification! Now I understand more what is US pirate scene.
I am a station hunter and it is always nice to hear a new one, but of course it does not motivate to hunt so deep if you do not know for sure the stations by name. I suppose the stations from the west coast are much easier to hear here.
I have never tried kiwis located in USA, but it is not so interesting. Also it is deep night here  in Finland during the best on air time (2400 - 0400 local time here).

We have an active DX-community here in Finland with own magazine etc.
I would like to do a story of US pirates. How about an interview to take the details?
Is it possible to have a photo of some station's transmitter?

I made a similar article of Finnish pirates since 1975 (as I was one of them) as we gathered together to the meeting in October 2021. There were 15 stations at present telling their story of the raids and court cases. Very intensive stories! Some guys did run around the woods, police and PTL behind,  in the snow with transmitters and batteries... some stations were raided to two places at the same time... Today there is not so much interest on pirate broadcasting.

Hi all. I put this message here. I don't know where else to write this. You can remove or delete this from here.

I have been tuning US-pirates again since September 2022 around 6.9 MHz and logged many here is SW Finland.
I have longwire 800m long directed to US-west coast (300 degrees) + 48mb dipole etc.

Now I wonder how many different stations / transmitters I have heard.
I mean are there many stations using different names?
I can see names like WDOG, Two Dog Radio and One Dog Radio. Is it the same station / transmitter?

How many different stations you think there exists in USA / Canada?

Also I wonder what could be the penalties if raid happens? I have read that those fees could be very high?
And if the amount of the fees is somehow correlated to how many times you have been on air, then
if would be wise to use different names?

I had 48mb mobile pirate 1977-1980 and 2004-2006.
Never raided, but all my friends did. High penalties especially during 1980's and 90's.

White Crow was audible also in SW Finland (Paimio location), but very weak. Only a few words understood here and there but music was better identified. Also I got SSTV, but it was looking like a noisy ghost image from this signal level. Perhaps next time better.

Clear and nice readable signal in SW Finland (Paimio-location), so, I believe this is from the westcoast. "WFDR, New York, Good night" was clear for end of the transmission.

B-side Radio also in SW Finland (Paimio-location) for the last 30 minutes. Talking was barely readable but music titles easy to recognize.

Clear but fading signal in SW Finland (Paimio) before 03.00 UTC for at least 15 minutes period.
Three station-id's at 0251 UTC and techno music.
 "You are tuned to Black Swan... all the listeners in the westcoast of Noth America"

About Russian pirates. I can hear those stations daily with huge signals.
I have  never contacted any and these days I do not want to hear Russian language at all.
They do the same QSO-work with each other but also play music.
They use stations names like Planeta, Kurier, Proton ,Galavok and very often they give the city-location.
They mostly operate around 1700 kHz and 3000 - 3100 kHz and these days rarely go down to 1650 kHz etc.
I have not looked the discussions in the forums here about Greek, Serbian and Russian, but I will do it later.
