S9+20 in NE PA

Appears to be LSB with a carrier.  Kind of surprised it demodulates so well in AM receiving mode.
That's the magic of AM compatible SSB. :)

Thanks for tonight's program, on an otherwise quiet night. Shazam knows most of the songs.
Thank you for listening!  Also, you might as well call Sternradio bipolar radio given the genre/mood swings...

0432z - Interference from whatever a KHz or few above. LSB ECSS help a little.

Shuffled down a little.

Hallo :)

0121z - "Transmitter is smoking..." into music. SIO 333 via KiwiSDR 2 and 31' vertical.
0130z - Improving. SIO trending 434. AM sync tuning.

0210z - Music. SIO 334 via ATS-20+ and 15' loop in window. Intense static crashing on my Kiwi right now.

Thanks for the broadcast! :)
Stupid giant spark gap transmitters!

For some (pretty obvious) reason this reminds me of the old Sprockets segment of SNL.
Hahahah!  And this is why we at Sternradio do what we do.

7
Razor blades were applied to those sidebands. Razor blades. That is all.

0211 Switched to USB

Signal very strong, but difficult to make out voice or enjoy music. Perhaps over-equalized, over-compressed, IMH

Much of that is the source material.  I may be a little over aggressive on the compression myself.  I play some very...not pleasant music sometimes.  For example, Satyricon does not do well over AM.   One learns a lot about the hits of the past by blasting out shitty AM today.

You want to be a hitmaker? Blat out your tunes over HF and see if they sound like garbage not, if not, you might have a hit.  Really.  Shit we've learned here at Sternradio.

Heavy metal tunes are the true challenge of an AM transmitter.  Transformers growl just as loudly as the guitars.

I like you back on good old AM again.  You're audio is good out to around 14khz, but then fading makes it noisy.
What sort of receiver do you use? I'm curious as to what isn't happy with sideband + carrier.  Much of this is an experimentation process for us.

I has another thread ;)

Still sounds good with one sideband!  S9 in East Tennessee.
It's amazing with the 0Hz reference of the carrier does for AM audio!

I'm down at 6938.666 currently.  Damn you all!

14
Fuck it, we'll lose a sideband!

I moved to 6946.666 to avoid some narrowband donkey.

No honor amongst thieves.  Cunts.
