HF Beacons / Late night spin around 4096kHz
« on: May 18, 2012, 1124 UTC »
Hi all,

Long time listener of HF beacons, but I've never posted here before. I noticed things have been quiet lately, so I thought I'd contribute. Here's what I'm hearing tonight, 2012-05-18, around 1000z:

4079.65: TMP 72, weak but copyable
4096.26: Hexie dasher, fading in and out
4102.7: W, 2-3 dits. Very weak, just barely audible over local noise. Very noticeable frequency sag when keying.

That's it in the 4096 khz area. Location is Phoenix, AZ, so no awards for distance. Antenna is a small magnetic loop in the back yard, receiver is an FT-857D.
