There is also less absorption of the signals on 43 M this time of year during daylight hours. Once the MUF gets in order after sunrise, there is a nice window for a couple hours of good props. But even at solar noon, it is not too shabby this time of the year. Even more so with low solar condx I find.

That WMID transmission was only 65 watts carrier and a simple Inverted V antenna, about 55 feet hi at the apex.
