Is this STILL Radio Genix at 23:45 on 6950? If so ..... nice long show! 2 British rock mixes. QRM'er kid with kiddie crap around :48 and :49 Next mx Don't Fear The Reaper at :56 Still decent signal here in Dixie but the summer evening lightning static is marching in making copy uncomfortable. SIO 433

Tuned in here in Dixie at 22:40. Decent signal then, sketch with oldies sounding British-sounding maybe man and woman talking about something for several minutes. Signal around S5 at start but begins to slowly fade and the evening summer lightning static is on the march. Next Rave type techno "This is a global warning" mix. Tuned away at :47 with signal fading making copy ugly. SIO 433

Radio Genix 6950 USB 19:20~ Stopped listening 19:53 6/8/21 Good path to this station from my place in Dixie. Nice signal throughout overall. At most times SIO 555 preamp off Icom tabletop rig. With quiet sun this week continuing, upper bands have mostly been dead and lower signals with particularly quiet backgrounds down here near 40 meters. So with the ultra quiet was able to use 1 and 2 stages of preamp which boosted signals 3-5 Sunits with little increase in noise made for mostly S9 signal during most and the preamp covered the typical signal fades nicely. Very decent SSB Audio Fidelity on Radio Genix. Overall SIO 555+ preamp

SIO 444 Decent audio fidelity but could have been louder audio volume to match signal. Several I.D. given but could not copy any of them. Overall rough copy from only moderate signal mix with the band noise. Presume start at 00:00 Tuned in around 00:03 to Midnight At The Oasis into All I Want Is To Feel This Way into Ooo Ooo Child into Beach Boys into Michael McDonald Shine Sweet Freedom.

Have worked it several times in the last 2 weeks. 10 & 6 have enjoyed some excellent openings.

Seems my guess may have been correct. Nov-Dec 1979 73 Magazine article speaking of Fishing Trawlers using illegal beacons on 29.150khz
Was going to post a screenshot of the Google hit re: the above but can't figure out how to add a pic here.
.
You may Google "fishing beacons on 29.150khz to find

Wow ..... never heard of this one. Does this Skirt the Rules against someone else saying your callsign?

Tremendous band opening on 10 meters this evening running North/South from my ham shack in Dixie. Was going across the entire band working DX. Many several in the lower SSB area, several chats on the N.J. 29.620 repeater, was several AM qso's on 29.000 and 29.050. - As I was tuning across the AM portion came across a strange Beeping transmission on 29.150 Signal had a carrier, best heard from CW but clearly was not CW. Beeps with same repeating spacing and duration. Clearly automated. Not a digital transmission. Guessing might be some sort of Fishing Buoy type transmission coming off the NE Coast. Was receiving Delaware right up through New England. If a "commercial" buoy .... should be illegal on 10 meters right? Only heard this one single signal in the area. Will listen for it again this summer. Anyone have any idea?

Get in there and make some noise! Did the 11 meter thing for decades but tired of the lack of courtesy etc .... Prefer 10 Meters now. Band open good every day this week from late morning into the evenings.

Worked the .620 NY Repeater this week (3rd Week of May 2021). from Dixie. Good fun. Rptr. is Open with No pl tone.

44
Enjoyed an awesome opening late Monday afternoon 5/17. East-West. Worked several stations in Cali. and Nevada from the Heart Of Dixie. Furthest contacts for me ever. With Summer here NOW is the time to check 6 daily for activity! When it's open it's open and you work DX with even minimal power and less than optimum antennas. Truly the Magic Band !

Came across at around 21:55 6955khz USB. DJ Dick Weed with good signal avg. S5 from the Heart Of Dixie. Very good SSB audio estimating 2.7k wide. Off the beaten path rock and pop songs. Some cleaver banter and nicely produce Station Jingles. Didn't write down any of the songs. Will start making better notes. First Log Here. Listening with good ham gear and lengthy wire antenna.
