The Drifty Crystal, 2-1-14, 0220-0334*, S6 to S8 here at 0220.  Pretty Woman at 0229.  A tune by Dwight Yoakum then the Rascals  (rf in the audio it sounds like with this tune)  Edit, cleared-up quickly by op and back to normal.  After that, Sugar Magnolia by the Greatful Dead.  S3 to S5 now at 0245.  After that, occasionally back up to S6 now with Black Magic Woman.  Playing lots of "tear-jerker" tunes for all the heart-broken pirate radio dx'ers out there tonite.  Moody Blues at 0305 with Tuesday Afternoon.  After that, the Moody Blues and Wildest Dreams........Op identifies himself as "The Ol' Man."  Bouncing around at S3 to S5 at 0319.  Closing out the show with "Green Grass & High Tides" by the Outlaws.  Attached is an ID clip

XLR8, 2-1-14, 0059-0200+, 6.930U, S7 to S9 at 0059, music including a raggae sounding tune "i'm a dope." (?)  Good, strong audio punching thru any static at the moment.  sounds like the B-52's at 0114.  Pretty much a solid S9 now at 0137.  Mr. Rogers song at 0142 "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood," rap tune at 0144.  Show ended while I was grilling my steak out on the patio, listening to XLR8 blasting out of the patio speakers out across the countryside.

Radio Free Whatever (presumed ID per others' postings), 1-31-14, 0201-0227, 6.950 AM, S3 noise floor.  Occasionally making it up to S4 at 0201.  Hearing faint music at 0227.

X-FM Shortwave, 1-31-14, 0139-0337*, 6.925 AM, around my S3 noise floor at 0139.  An even weaker carrier now at 0147, but still in there, can barely detect a note of music now and then.  Can hear a little music at 0157 if i go to usb mode.  Hearing announcer talk at 0226.  Signal picking up now.  Up to S8.  Hearing "Boys of Summer" at 0313.  Then, "Shout."  See attached MP3 of ID at 0315.  Announcer "back-selling" music at 0323.  Heard "25 minutes after 3 UTC" time check.  Occasionally hitting S9 now at 0330.  Saying goodnite to listeners and ending with Johnny Cash.  Deep fades S3 to S9 at 0337.  ID, then off at 0337.

Radio Jihad, 1-31-14, 0054-0114, 6.849.3 AM, around my S2 static level at 0054.  Heard male announcer say "....a problem." at 0101.   Hearing electric guitar at 0102. ID at 0106.  Hearing music at 0108, guitars again.  Another ID at 0111.  Under the noise here or gone at 0114, no carrier now either.

thanks chris.  a cursory check seems to show that the afedri can record way much more band spectrum, at about half the price.  i'll keep checking them out.

I've been thinking of purchasing one of these.  I understand it will allow u to record 192 khz of band spectrum to hard drive for later searching/replaying.  Are there any other, cheaper alternatives out there that will allow one to record this amount or more, of band spectrum to hard drive?  How about recording 2 separate bands at once to hard drive?  Thanks in advance.  Regards, Scott.

WRR, 1-30-14, *0053-0200, 6.925.1U, under the S2 static level with announcer talk opening show at 0053, followed by music and announcer talk from 0055-0057...then dipped way under static...Song about an old man and a mountain ? at 0102. "W-R-R" ID at 0104.  May have mentioned my name at 0105. Hearing "I've been everywhere, man" at 0117.  Took a big dip down in the static but caught another ID at 0143. Hearing a song with yoddling in it at 0145, then announcer talk and back into another yoddling song at 0151. Please QSL. Thanks.

UNID, 1-29-14, 0228-0233, 6.925U, hearing a bunch of ranting, laughter, vulgarities, etc at 0228, very weak here at S2-3 at best.  nothing heard now at 0233 unless station is playing music at a low level...we'll see.  Hearing an announcer talking now at 0237 with no highs whatsoever in the audio...cannot make it out.  don't know if part of programming i heard earlier, or not.  Please ID and QSL.  Thanks.

XLR8, 1-29-14, 0055-0201+, 6.935U, S7 to 9 here with spacey music and effects at 0055.  ID mixed into the music at 0101.  ID at 0113 and back into music.  ID at 0029 then "switchin' to glide."  ID at 0158 and back into music.  Up to S9 +10 now at 0209.  Lost signal or went off the air around 0223.  Please QSL.

The Crystal Ship, 1-29-14, 0016-0036*, 6.925.5 AM, S4 to 8 at 0016 with the Billy Jack song.  Emerson, Lake & Palmer at 0020.  Occasionally peaking S9 now at 0023.  "War is not the answer, you are listening to The Crystal Ship" ID at 0025 and into Imagine by John Lennon.  After that, Pink Floyd and ID and email address.  Off at 0036.
