Lair of King Tongmyong's Unicorn Reconfirmed in DPRK

Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- Archaeologists of the History Institute of the DPRK Academy of Social Sciences have recently reconfirmed a lair of the unicorn rode by King Tongmyong, founder of the Koguryo Kingdom (B.C. 277-A.D. 668).
The lair is located 200 meters from the Yongmyong Temple in Moran Hill in Pyongyang City. A rectangular rock carved with words "Unicorn Lair" stands in front of the lair. The carved words are believed to date back to the period of Koryo Kingdom (918-1392).
Jo Hui Sung, director of the Institute, told KCNA:
"Korea's history books deal with the unicorn, considered to be ridden by King Tongmyong, and its lair.
The Sogyong (Pyongyang) chapter of the old book 'Koryo History' (geographical book), said: Ulmil Pavilion is on the top of Mt. Kumsu, with Yongmyong Temple, one of Pyongyang's eight scenic spots, beneath it. The temple served as a relief palace for King Tongmyong, in which there is the lair of his unicorn.
The old book 'Sinjungdonggukyojisungnam' (Revised Handbook of Korean Geography) complied in the 16th century wrote that there is a lair west of Pubyok Pavilion in Mt. Kumsu.
The discovery of the unicorn lair, associated with legend about King Tongmyong, proves that Pyongyang was a capital city of Ancient Korea as well as Koguryo Kingdom."

I'm logging this as a pirate, since that is what I suspect it is.

My previous 6914.5 logging was a recording of an OM and YL: http://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,9029.0.html

This new one is a CW message, transmitted in MCW (an AM carrier with CW audio in the sidebands, much like Cuban Spy Numbers station M8A uses)

I believe the same message was transmitted each time. I logged it numerous (at least two dozen) times over the last 2 days. Thanks to KU4A, here is the text of the transmission at 0911z from yesterday:

The pulses are 130 msec in length and 6 seconds apart.  

Multiple (delayed) transmissions are observed on some frequencies, with different signal strengths, suggesting multiple transmitter sites.

N0D - Special Event Station for Doomsday - The End of the World! Will we be your last 73?

That’s right! The end is finally near. According to one of the three Mayan Calendars, the end of the world will occur on Dec 21, 2012. To celebrate this literally once in a lifetime event, Special Event Station N0D (Now Zero Days) will be activated for three days. December 20; is a celebration of the end of the world. December 21; the day of destruction, we will be on the air as long as possible. December 22nd, that is a little iffy right now.

More information is available on the Official N0D website, www.nowzerodays.com . You can also e-mail the N0D team at N0D.Doomsday@gmail.com with questions or suggestions about Doomsday.

Initial operating frequencies are 28.400, 21.400, 14.200, 7.150. But are all bets are off as destruction rains down upon us. We may have to change bands or frequencies at a moments notice. We will also be trying some CW and digital contacts.

If Doomsday actually does happen, we regret that a QSL will not be possible so don't mail your QSL request until it is safe.

We are definitely going out with a laugh. After all it is just an excuse to get on the air. Or is it?. You never know what can happen. In any case, we urge amateurs from around the crumbling world to make contact with N0D and report conditions in their area. You know, meteors ,earthquakes, tsunamis, cracks in the earth. We will be on the air as long as we can and as long as our generators hold out.

Members of our club will be operating from several secret, undisclosed locations. We hope to be represented on all bands (including WARC bands) and modes for as long as we can but deteriorating conditions may force us to move. As the globe falls apart, N0D may be interrupted from time to time but we will stay on the air as conditions permit.

If by some chance, we make it through Doomsday, the Doomsday QSL is available with SASE, or by buro.

You can become an Official Doomsday Station by registering on our website, www.nowzerodays.com . You will receive a registration number and the authority to identify yourself as “Official Doomsday Station” with your call sign and exchange your signal report and official Doomsday Number. Official Doomsday stations will receive the Doomsday Station Certificate. Stations contacting at least 10 Official Doomsday Stations during the event will be recognized on our web site.

Take the Doomsday survey on the website. It is not entirely clear exactly how it will happen. Will it be a cataclysmic shift in the earth’s magnetic field? Global Warming on steroids, earthquakes, volcanoes floods, global thermonuclear war, Meteor collision, the 10 plagues of Egypt, UFO invasion or all of the above? Who knows ? There are scientists, soothsayers and philosophers on both sides of the question. Either way it will be an event worth remembering. . .or maybe there will be no one left to remember it?

The first was at 2311z, with some instrumental music, then an OM talking, and into part of Walking in a Winter Wonderland, off at 2314z.

Started to fade in around 0111z with a carrier barely visible on the SDR recording. Sudden increase in signal to S4 at 0126z, it sounded like possibly a Johnny Cash song?
ID repeated several times at 0129? Hard to make out, with the echo effects.
Off at 0129z.

Carrier noted again 0141-0145z, this may have been another station, though.

Signed on with some dance type music. Some peaks to S6 around 0210, but mostly around S4.

Technical problems: Some sudden shifts in carrer frequency around 0215, carrier off and on, carrier finally off at 0218z.
