Heard here since 1234 with frequent "Cool AM Radio" IDs, and Parody Parade with songs by Rucka Rucka Ali (My Names Obama and The Kim Jong Un Song), and She Only Bitches When She Breathes by Freddy B. Good solid signal with minimal static but with no headphones nesessary.

Pounding here last night from 0027-0109 with the occasional ID and varied musical performances from Julie Richmond, Leadbelly/Josh White, The Knickerbockers, Ray Charles, JJ Cale, Nils Lofgren, Joan Armatrading, and The Eurythmics. Great show!

Pounding in here since 0125. Actually, this may be the best signal on the SW bands now, as everything else is weak or covered by static. They even played my request for Nirvana! Thanks Dickweed!

Heard here at 9.275.22 AM last night from 2357-0051. Great eclectic musical selections including Pushing Too Hard, Hurdy Gurdy Man, Good Friends, Nowhere Road, Gone Back to Whorin, etc.

Signal started off barely audible here, crushed under the noise, but ultimately was audible and relatively quiet, and headphones eventually weren't necessary. It looks like the Pre-Post sunset conditions made a big difference.

Mark:

Based on the frequncy, and the information you provided, it sounds like you might be hearing WAZU. They were on last night on this frequency, and there were regular computer-generated female ID announcements.

Shortwave Broadcast / Late Logs FEB 11-15
« on: February 22, 2015, 0013 UTC »
I wanted to send these logs almost a week ago, but experienced problems sending e-mail.

TINAN: VOA 12.045 FEB 11 UTC 1404-1459 CH broadcast with music and (presumed) news, including pips at 1430, mentions of Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China, Washington, and off air at 1459. Good.

INDIA: AIR 11.840 FEB 12 UTC 1259+ CH broadcast with time pips at the hour (no sign of Gladys Knight though), and mention of Beijing. Strong signal. Had this been EG, it would have been easy to copy.

INDIA: AIR 15.040 FEB 12 UTC 1309-1315 Burmese broadcast with a fast-paced mix of traditional and rock music. Off at 1315. Good.

SRI LANKA: SLBC 11.905 FEB 14 UTC 0159-0230 SC language, but several “Sri Lanka Broadcast Corp” IDs heard. Music and news after the hour with several mentions of “Iraq,” and traditional SC mx before signoff. Excellent signal.

NO. MARINAS: VOA 9.720 FEB 14 2245-2300 Fast-paced CH program with mixture of music and some (presumed) news items with correspondents and crowd noise noted. Time pips at the hour, then off.

GREECE: HELLINIKI RADIOPHONIA 9.420 FEB 14 2305 + OM with GK (and some EG), with a program featuring songs from The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour album including respectively, I Am The Walrus, Hello Goodbye, Strawberry Fields Forever, and Penny Lane. Strong, clean signal, and an especially enjoyable program, though I miss hearing the traditional Greek music.

European Pirates and Private Stations / Re: UNID on 15.705.20
« on: January 04, 2015, 1412 UTC »
Settled into a fair signal with fades. Music coming in well enough to identify (Lisa Stansfield, Pharrell Williams, Chic, Don Henley), but there is just enough noise to muffle OM talk except for a few words or phrases.

European Pirates and Private Stations / UNID on 15705.20
« on: January 04, 2015, 1343 UTC »
Heard since 1332. Began deep in the mud, but a major fade-up occurred at 1335. OM in EG with mentions of ...tommorrow...a couple of days..back on...tunes we know you'll like..." At 1337, Heaven (Feels Like) by Fiction Factory.

Anyone get an ID for this one?

Heard here 0n 6.264.15 at excellent level (no headphones necessary and limited knob tuning) since 2122.Really Enjoying Andy Walker's Before They Were Famous program, especially Elton John with Bluesology, Neil Young with The Squires (not sure if AW mentioned that Rick James was in that group with Neil Young) and The Sultan, and The Quarrymen covering That'll be The Day.

Good signal here since 0205, but a lot more noise than 6.880. Hearing Bird is The Word, The Witch by The Sonics, and Thomas Dolby with She Blinded me With Science. Always enjoy JB's commentary between songs.
