UNID, signal is just over the noise level.
S3-4 in NH seacoast... Noise level is almost as high. Using Eton Grundig Satellit and 45' of wire into a 9:1 balun and RG58 at 25' height.

Well, the Eham.com reviews were on point; this thing is incredible. It's got my noise floor down to zero from a steady S7 or higher, and nothing but radio signals pouring in. It's installed on the roof of my house with a rotor at about 10' elevation. Expensive, but well worth it to a shortwave obsessed person such at myself.

Sounds like a repeat of CoolAM's relay show from last night.
Much better signal this time, but still sounds like two shows playing at once.

Sounds like CoolAM show stopped. One program going by itself now. 0350

Equipment / Timewave ANC-4 Noise Cancelling Antenna

SO I just bought one of these ANC-4 doo-hickeys from HRO with hopes that it would cure my noise issues. It seems to be creating more frustration than helping me. Has anyone had experience with one of these? I could sure use some assistance... Thanks!

General Radio Discussion / Propagation question

Since joining this forum a few weeks ago, I have begun chasing pirate broadcasts like a crazy person will many hours being spent in front of my receiver. I have caught a couple, but for the most part I don't hear that much. This brings up a question in my mind about propagation. If it's daylight on the east coast in the morning, will a signal reach the west coast if it's dark there?
