Listening on KPH I can hear some weak dits and dahs but unable to discern if there is a pattern or if it's random junk

Must have been propagation chicanery!

I just heard some very weak whoops on the home radio and then tuned to it on KFS and caught telemetry

Nothing heard this morning.

Petropavlovsk on 7.039.3MHz often has transmission irregularities as does the 8.495.3MHz transmission.  Thanks for reporting, I will pay more attention to it this evening.

8495.3 is transmitting K in the same pattern as 7039.3 is but I don't have a means to verify if they are synchronized. I assume they are because they are collocated. In concert with SyFr's question, maybe the change occurred in the lead up to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

EDIT

I just tuned in the stronger signal of 7039.3 on my NRD-525 and I have a very weak 8495.3 on my KX3. The two do appear to be synchronized.

Typically the Omni is not infested with bots. It’s probably the best choice for CS as an optimum receive antenna

From a Rumor Mill source ( not absolutely reliable), A human or a squirrel cut though
the positive lead from its battery to the transmitter.

Rodents love to do that. I had a small solar powered data logger where a wood rat chewed through the solar panel cable. Crybaby's creators need to add some tubular woven metal braid to the cable's exterior and the problem will go away.

Have there been any additional reports on why the 7039.3 beacon sends K five times then repeats? (as opposed to just repeating K over and over without gaps)
