Here are a few suggestions for ways to confirm if a station is Sound of Hope or CNR1 jamming.

1) One positive way is to listen at the top-of-the-hour. CNR1 programming always has time pips, while SOH
never has any.

2) Find a known CNR1 frequency, that is to say a non-jamming frequency (such as 6125 kHz.), then check to
find if it is // to the station in question.

3) SOH is a religious station, so has a more refined format. At ToH usually has news and then a lot of monologues.
Rather rare to hear music. While the CNR1 format is fairly contemporary; many short segments; often with music;
in general has a much more upbeat format than SOH.

4) After many years of listening to SOH, I find their audio slightly muffled; not a lot, just enough to be noticeable,
especially when compared to the crisp audio of CNR1.

5) It is not uncommon for SOH to be slightly off frequency; while CNR1 is on the exact frequency (xx.00).

6) Finally, if the station in question has fair to good reception, it almost certainly is CNR1 jamming. SOH stations
use rather low power, hence fair-good reception would be extremely rare.

KOREA SOUTH. Nov 16 (Monday) observed frequencies:

VOP: 3480 (best reception) // 3910 // 3930 // 4450 // 6520 // 6600, at 1305 UT; no change
from last week.

VOH: 3990 // 4885 // 6000 // 6250 // 6355 // 9100, at 1339 UT; EBS-FM news/language lesson,
which was first broadcast via EBS-FM back on Nov 2; all frequencies changed today, so is
really old news!

Voice of Freedom, 5920, at 1310 UT, with fair reception (no jamming). The super jamming from
N. Korea still heard on 6045, while 6135 was a clear frequency with no jamming. BTW - CRI is
on 6135 from *1357 to 1557* UT, blocking reception of R. Madagasikara.

Clandestine Stations / Echo of Hope - VOH news in English and Korean
« on: November 10, 2020, 2205 UTC »
KOREA SOUTH. 9105, Echo of Hope - VOH, 0941 UTC, Nov 10. The EBS-FM [Educational Broadcasting System] news in
English and Korean; but more than just the news, as they explain the meaning of some of the English words, so it's really
the news and a language lesson; in the past EBS called this show "Touch! Global Headlines," but that name has recently
been dropped; they no longer ID the program via the radio show, nor at their website; a partial transcript of today's show,
which first aired via EBS FM back on Oct 27, is at https://bit.ly/2UfEbPC . EBS's website audio streaming only has the first
one minute of the program at https://bit.ly/3eM00zw . My audio of today's whole program is posted at - https://bit.ly/35k7Ayy
The VOH programming runs on a four hour loop, meaning this news program will be carried again at 1341 UT.

BTW - Interesting news item today about "EU member states have turned clocks back an hour for the last time, as they have
voted to abolish the practice of daylight saving time in 2021."

MEXICO. 6185, XEPPM - Radio Educación, with extended broadcast. On Oct 27, noted in Spanish, leading up to choral
National Anthem at 1200 UTC; suspect this was due to Tropical Storm Zeta, which has hit the Yucatán Peninsula. No CHBC
(China) QRM.

Hi Ivo,

An amazing frequency choice for Nippon no Kaze and Furusato no Kaze, as it is now also the frequency
for Shiokaze, during the same time period. Strange that these similar stations are all now on the same
frequency, at the same time. Will they notice the problem and change frequency? All are about equal
strength, so this frequency has become a mess from 1300 to 1400 UTC. Oct 26, observed their mixing
on 7295, at 1302 UTC, with Shiokaze // 6145, with pulsating jamming noise from N. Korea.

Clandestine Stations / Korea - VOP, VOH and VOF
« on: October 26, 2020, 1920 UTC »
KOREA SOUTH. Frequencies for this week; observed Monday, October 26:

Voice of the People: 3480 (best frequency) // 3910 // 3930 // 4450 // 6520 // 6600, at 1150 UTC.

Echo of Hope - VOH: 3985 // 4880 // 5995 // 6245 // 6350 // 9095, at 1135 UTC, with English language lesson.

Voice of Freedom, 5920, at 1155 UTC, with good reception (no jamming). The super jamming, white noise,
N. Korea jamming was heard on BOTH 6045 and 6135, but later at 1238, found 6135 clear of the jamming,
so R. Madagasikara reception is again possible, while 6045 continues to be jammed. Have never been
able to figure out the rationale for the N. Korea jamming of 6045 and 6135, as clearly VOF is no longer
on those frequencies!

Frequency changes happen every Monday for VOP & VOH - today (March 23), observed the following:

VOP: 3480 (very good) // 3910 // 3925 (stronger than Japan on frequency) // 4450 // 6520 // 6600, at 1013 UTC.

Echo of Hope - VOH: 3985 // 4880 (for only two days was on ex: 4885) // 5995 // 6245 // 6350 // 9095, at 1009 UTC.

Voice of Freedom, 6045, good reception at 1208 UTC, this after Alaska went off about 1200 UTC; N. Korea jamming
still on 6135.

Also noted:

6045, Voice of Freedom, from 0753+ UTC, on March 18. Just missed their sign on; heard choral National Anthem,
followed by singing station jingle - "jinsil-e soli, huimang-e soli, jayu-e soli bangsong!" (Voice of truth, Voice of hope, Voice
of Freedom Broadcast); 0800 time pips; first program "Hamkke tteonaneun eum-ag-yeohaeng" (Music Tour Together); the
usual fair-good reception; no N. Korea jamming, which is still up on 6135 kHz. My six minute audio at http://bit.ly/3a3EmDZ .

frequency of Tibet and surely there are better frequencies? My audio at http://bit.ly/2Usions .

Shortwave Broadcast / Radio Vanuatu/AIR Jeypore on 5040 kHz.
« on: December 17, 2019, 0356 UTC »
VANUATU/INDIA. 5040, Radio Vanuatu, random listening on Dec 16. Their signature song "You Are the Only One," sung
by the "Black Brothers," heard at 1105 UTC, 1123 and while mixing with AIR Jeypore at 1223; reception blocked at 1128 UTC,
with the start of AIR IS, via Jeypore, which was stronger than Vanuatu; still mixing together at 1248, so seems to still be testing.
