Utility / Trenton Military VOLMET back on 15034 USB, 07 FEB 2024
« on: February 07, 2024, 1720 UTC »
Listening at 1720 UTC, good signal, back on 15034 after transmitting yesterday at this time on 15031 USB.

06 FEB 2024, 1710 UTC

Was scanning 19m broadcast band when I saw this pop up, and was zoomed out enough with my waterfall that I couldn't immediately tell that it was Trenton Military VOLMET rather than an EAM on 15016 (one had transmitted there just minutes earlier). When I clicked on it I was surprised to see it off its usual frequency. Trenton Military ID at 1715, but could tell based on the voice and the usual "no reports received - break" from every base that they cover. I couldn't find any info that they had changed frequency anywhere, and though I don't generally log things I know I was copying on 15034 earlier this week.

Very good SIO 444 signal from Santa Maria di Galeria, beamed to Sudan but coming in nicely to my QTH. OM delivering speech or lecture in Sudanese Arabic.

0059 Music, SIO 222

This is the Korean language version of VOK, and given the reports that Radio Pyongyang (aka KCBS) shut down, it's interesting that this is still on the air. But maybe the VOK transmissions are different? I don't know, but this is still broadcasting for now.

RX in Denver is weak, but at the KPH kiwi SDR in Point Reyes CA it's very strong, SIO 544 (slight fades still audible).

51
Good signal, about SIO 333, with what I assume is traditional Sudanese music.

Sure sounds like Josiah. No SWBC stations listed for this time/frequency.
2007 Days of Hard Life. I'll take that as confirmation. SIO 222.
2012 faded to just a carrier. Occasional traces of OM voice.

53
This has been steadily increasing in strength for the past hour or two, now about SIO 333 with what sounds like a news broadcast in Spanish with OM and YL announcers.

54
Copied on the uTwente web SDR. I assume the song is coming from Ukraine but you never know. OM voice speaking unknown language at 2212, then just the Buzzer.

55
Copying with about SIO 222 signal in Colorado. Transmitting from Tashkent, targeting the Maldives, so an interesting catch. YL announcer in sermon/lecture style (continuous one-sided dialogue). Can't make out what's being said. Eibi says this broadcast is in the Dhivehi language spoken in the Maldives, but short-wave.info says it should be in English. Definitely doesn't sound English.

Loud solo synthesizer, SIO 555 at W3HFU kiwi SDR.

Thats INDY radio in Europe
6031

6031 is quite a way off 6930.  ;) Anyway if you meant 6931, this station was definitely on 6930, not 6931, and was in USB, not AM.

Making a note of this because ordinarily this broadcast ends at 2300 UTC on the weekend, with interval til 2305. But I tuned over to catch the end of this after WREC signed off, and here it seems to still be on with regular programming. Don't know if they forgot to turn off the transmitter or if this is a special broadcast.

2114 bit of harmonica music, which has already disappeared in the time it's taken me to write up this post. Thanks for the bump in the not-so-dark. It was SIO 333 at W3HFU kiwi SDR.

0123 Caught a distorted OM voice but it didn't last. Sounded like it might have been giving an ID. This was on W3HFU kiwi SDR in MD.
0124 Back after a pause with sound effects (seems to be an interval, I'm making out "?? wave radio" as the ID. I'm going to guess "Dark Wave Radio" but will wait til I hear it again to be sure.
0126 "Forever Suffer" Dark per Shazam, SIO 333
0129 "Durdu Dünya" She Past Away
0133 "Судно (Борис Рижий)" Molchat Doma
0136 QRT? (Or just a pause, as it turns out)
...
0144 "Cataracts" Dancing Plague
0148 "Circuits" This Cold Night
0151 "Always Then" The KVB
0156 QRT (or another pause)
...
0220 "Still There" Holygram
0224 "Summon" In Death It Ends
0229 Dr. Who theme
0232 "Splatterpunk" Karl Casey

I'm going to go do some other stuff now, but want to thank the op for the unique show.
