Very good reception today. It started off at S7-S8, faded about one S unit as the broadcast went on. Relatively brief message today.

I saw a tip on a Facebook SWL page that this was back (apparently confirmed by Glenn Hauser's most recent newsletter). Confirmed by comparing my reception against their online stream (hyperlink follows). The signal was 1300 kHz wide at one point, but has faded. Presumably being broadcast from WWRB in Morrison, TN, USA as in the past.

Shortwave Broadcast / Radio Öömrang should be on today
« on: February 21, 2018, 1515 UTC »
... Feb. 21, at 1600 UTC, 15215 UTC. The following link is in Spanish and was the only thing I could find confirming that it's happening this year (other than a listing on the Eibi schedule), but you can use the translation option on your browser if you have that plug-in. (Chrome has it built in already.)

EDIT: terrific signal in Colorado, although there was a glitch at the beginning when the tx cut out for two or three minutes right after it started. SIO 455-555, S9 to S9+10 on the meter, SNR in the 35 dB range. Mostly very casual sounding conversations between men and women speaking Frisian (presumed - my knowledge of German isn't good enough to distinguish dialects, but that's the one spoken in Amran.)

Playing tracks from the first album, but up to "Whole Lotta Love" at 1650. Fair to good signal, some fading, low noise.

FA Cup match, Rochdale vs. Tottenham Hotspur

This started as a rough copy, but the signal has been gaining strength as the broadcast progresses, and is S5-S6 on the meter with local QRN affecting my reception of 16m SWBC band. Rochdale 1-0 Spurs at the half.

Clandestine Stations / Radio OMN 11575 AM 14 FEB 2018 1605 UTC
« on: February 15, 2018, 0213 UTC »
Originally noted as an unidentified station for three days in a row, shifting frequencies from day to day, but with a little help from fpeconsultant, concluded that this is the Oromo-language, Ethiopia-targeting broadcast being transmitted from Spaceline in Kostinbrod, Bulgaria. (Link to that thread follows.) Initially tuned into English-language discussion between two OM regarding the use of solitary confinement in California prisons, but was interrupted after a few minutes by music, presumed station ID, and Oromo language talk for the remainder of the hour, signing off at about 1657.
