i have no argument about broadcasting in SSB, it certainly is much more efficient than AM and as a result, "gets out" much further but its pretty much useless for music if you cant broadcast with an audio range of at least 60Hz to 4Khz.
the issue is with some SDR software that demodulates SSB, by default, limits bandwidth and audio quality because the creators of this software did not anticipate or expect content that would require higher demod bandwidth with full range audio such as music, leaving much to be desired when the end user wishes to listen to the broadcast on a high fidelity sound system.
the only piece of SDR software i have found that allows you to customize the demod bandwidth and audio to limits unheard of concerning other SDR software is Sodira.
i think it would be helpful to those of us who are seeking to demodulate a transmission in high fidelity for playback on a sound system, to know exactly which SDR software supports unlimited demod bandwidth and audio adjustments, i had to install many different SDR software to find what i desired.
now while Sodira doesnt have the same graphical waterfall display as other SDR software, it does have options that currently do not exist in any SDR software (that i know of) - i just wish the creator would make some improvements to Sodira and post a newer version as there are a few bugs in the current version.

If I understand the question, it's that you'd like to know if SDR software allows you to adjust SSB bandwidth beyond 3 kHz? If so, SDRuno is one that allows that. I can just click on the passband and drag it as far as I can. I found with Mix Radio's signal that there was too much noticeable high pitched hiss when I took it up to 6 kHz and that having it at about 4 kHz was ideal. That could be in part due to relative signal strength at my QTH - it was never what I'd give a 555 SIO rating, but it's been at least 444, meaning that if I were getting the full signal, perhaps there would be little hiss with a bandwidth setting greater than 4 kHz.

Was listening to Wolverine when this was on, but fortunately I recorded the band and could play it back this morning. Started quite faint and was hit by a few OTHR blasts, but picked up to a decent SIO 222 at 0042. But it was often barely audible during the broadcast. Anyway, thanks for the show!

0313 Very nice signal here in Denver tonight, with some smooth jazz. Thanks for the show!
0315 YL Mix Radio ID into more music.
....
0410 "Everybody Wants Some" Van Halen  - I've kept this on in the background as I get ready for bed, heard Steely Dan, Gerry Rafferty, and other soft rockers and smooth jazz over the past hour, so this transition is a bit of a contrast. Still listening!
0444 still on, but I have lightning so I'm unplugging. Good night!

SDR recording catch. Weak to fair signal, and I have local electrical QRM right on this frequency unfortunately.
0609 "White Rabbit" Jefferson Airplane
0611 "Won't Get Fooled Again" The Who
will have to finish listening later, work is calling my name

Heard on SDR recording, some different modes used.
0245 another SSTV sent, with some easypal to ID the station as Radio GaGa in the waterfall.
0247 an old Wolverine Radio SSTV was retransmitted, looking very distorted.
Various SSTV's continued to follow, some rather poorly despite a fair sounding signal. Some were also very faint sounding, possibly sent by some other party. No copy at all on those.

Some of the SSTV images that did make it through:

SDR recording catch, good signal here, about SIO 344 to begin, but fading toward the end.

Nothing here on 5980 or 7425 at 1304z on Sept. 8.

I did a quick scan after I got up (which was 1300z) and they were on 5980.

0103 Getting "Kashmir" Led Zeppelin weakly. Thanks for the show!

0042 Big signal here on 6930 USB. Not sure if it's the same station or not.
0043 looks like an SSTV going out now but I'm not tuned on it. Making an SDR recording though.

Playing back, there was "I Ran" Flock of Seagulls (probably started about 0039), SSTV (below) at 0042, followed by "Don't You Forget About Me" Simple Minds and a lengthy lecture from OM about relationships. Occasional air raid sirens. QRT at 0058.

Did you have a television image, or just audio?

If it was audio only.... The former television channel six frequency is 87.75 and it's often occupied by radio stations now. I have a Spanish language one here in Denver, KXDP (based in Boulder, actually). The rest of the traditional FM band 88-108 all have an odd number for the first decimal place (87.9, 88.1, 88.3 etc up to 107.9)

Here's a list of American radio stations transmitting on 87.75 MHz. If you got one, it would be an incredible catch because they all appear to be LPFM (low power - I don't know what the highest wattage a LPFM station can use, but the ones I've looked up don't ever seem to be over 100 W, or even as much as that.)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channel_6_radio_stations_in_the_United_States

If it was TV, then it seems doubtful that it was American. I think all analogue transmissions have ceased, and Tim Bucknall's suggestion is a good one.

I tuned over to 7425 around 1230 Z to find RNZI was SIO 455, which is unusual but not unknown when it's supposed to be beamed toward Papua New Guinea. At 1257 they announced that they would change to 5980, but the bird chirp interval never ceased, and the transmission remained on 7425, still with a terrific signal. That makes it likely that the beam failed to switch to a northwesterly direction at 1100, indicating some kind of trouble with the switching service (likely an automatic, unmanned process) at Rangitaiki.
