Just finished a nice chat with a station in 8 land on 40 meters cw and decided to
scan the band. As I go up the band and get close to the International WSPR
frequency I can barley hear a signal in the noise.
I'm using a Yaesu FT-950 transceiver and started using the filters until I could
hear the station. I was hoping for a QRP station but for the first time in many year
I hear the "F" beacon. I think that is Vladivostok.
Lots of fading in the signal, but when it faded up it was nice and clear.
Time now 11:02 UTC. My location FN41fr.
The antenna in use today, fan dipole for five bands setup in inverted vee
fashion with the apex at 75 feet, legs are north / south.
73 from Rhode Island.
