QRN now gaining on the audio.. any remotes near the 49th (border) to try?
Via Global Tuners (you'll need an account and new accounts have limited access for the first couple of weeks), there are some left coast remotes with good antennas in Alberta Ca. (AM and FM only, no sideband), Oregon, and a very good Icom R75 labeled "Pacific DX". One of the better Midwest tuners is in Colorado.
The Cleveland, OH, PCR-1000 is in a great location but very prone to overloading, so it's tough to copy weak signals. Good for fairly strong pirate signals tho'.
There's a pretty good remote in Wisconsin - only problem is no narrow filter, so it's noisy for sideband tuning. A couple of very quiet remotes on the right coast of Ca, in Nova Scotia and ...? I don't recall the other.
The main challenge with the popular Icom PCR-1000's on Global Tuners is they're very vulnerable to overloading from regional MW flamethrowers. Those models often work best with the attenuator kicked in, especially if they're hooked up to a good outdoor dipole or other resonant wire antenna.
