If you call yourself a puppet just once more....

Two OM conversing, but can't make anything out.

“News” commentary heard here with some QSB, whoever the guy reading is, his voice has a Bullwinkle style monotone pace to it.

Odd to hear abt west coast earthquakes, Mt St Helens… from where the Red river (of the north) is flooding!

Since 0320z: Jussst barely audible here at home, enough to hear voice, but nothing else clearly (other than the "Hola!" guy every once in awhile).  Could probably copy more clearly if I wasn't so lazy and took a portable outdoors.

Bits and pieces audible via Colorado remote: Partial ID (heard only "Manitoba") around 0324z. Sounds like Elmer Fudd voice talking about "radiation... carbon monoxide...".  Just a carrier or nothing via Ohio remote (overloaded by MW flamethrowers), Oregon and Western Ca. remotes.

0400z: Lost it here at home and via CO remote, just a weak carrier via Oregon tuner.

Via Global Tuners (you'll need an account and new accounts have limited access for the first couple of weeks), there are some left coast remotes with good antennas in Alberta Ca. (AM and FM only, no sideband), Oregon, and a very good Icom R75 labeled "Pacific DX".  One of the better Midwest tuners is in Colorado.

The Cleveland, OH, PCR-1000 is in a great location but very prone to overloading, so it's tough to copy weak signals.  Good for fairly strong pirate signals tho'.

There's a pretty good remote in Wisconsin - only problem is no narrow filter, so it's noisy for sideband tuning.  A couple of very quiet remotes on the right coast of Ca, in Nova Scotia and ...?  I don't recall the other.

The main challenge with the popular Icom PCR-1000's on Global Tuners is they're very vulnerable to overloading from regional MW flamethrowers.  Those models often work best with the attenuator kicked in, especially if they're hooked up to a good outdoor dipole or other resonant wire antenna.

Hearing Radio True North here in the NW the other night suggests a qth of BC or Alberta. Says he's running 40 watts to a Johnson Viking Ranger II barefoot.
Thanks Lex for the infor on remote tuners..

Glad we are making it out somewhere. The days are getting longer and longer here so our transmissions will be getting later all the time, till June 21 anyways. We will likely get into the mid-western and western parts of NA much better.

Of coarse you guys down there are already getting that nasty static season. We are still a month off that.
But it will come, sure as winter will again.

Any and all comments are welcome as we are always trying to improve things.
