Tuned in at 0035 utc on Barington Hils IL sdr with fair but noisy wideband S9 signal, soft pop/rock music, ID by woman, switched to Brookfield WI sdr with S9 to S9+15 signal, song "love jones" sung by a young Michael Jackson(?),
« Last Edit: August 20, 2022, 0127 UTC by William Hassig »
Drake R8, Kenwood R-2000, Panasonic RF-4900, Sony 2010, Realistic DX440, Grundig Satellit 500, 7mhz backyard dipole, Mt Prospect, IL 20miles (32km) NW of downtown Chicago. I have been using online receivers because of strong data hash interference in my neighborhood that I believe is caused by Uverse squeezing up to 100mb/sec through ordinary pairs of wires. I don't have Uverse but neighbors do. williamhassig@yahoo.com

Solid, clean S9 wide USB signal into the Boston 'burbs tonight. And the atmosphere is cooperating.

0054 UTC Midnight Hour, Wilson Pickett
0057 UTC ID
0057 The Ross, Diana Boss

Ooops, something's popping up on 6960...  [It's Ballsmacker. Commercial AM should be this good on a Friday night.]

0159  With a Child's Heart, Michael Jackson
      {Signal strength had been degrading for a while now. Now down to ~S3-S5.}
« Last Edit: August 20, 2022, 0201 UTC by bfrederi »
- Usually Airspy HF+/SDR Console V3.1
- After the tree guys left, now have a 125 ft wire that goes up to the west from 12 ft to 40ft., then a stretch SE that drops to 20ft termination. I should probably just say "longwire" and not worry about it. Miss that tree.
- Sometimes Sangean ATS-909X with whip and/or stock reel and/or YouLoop
- Remote SDRs only used when signal not present at home QTH, and always noted
- Shazam only used to ID music released after 1992. Mostly.
eQSLs to bfrederi1@verizon.net much appreciated

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using an SDRPlay RSP1A for SWL with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet. Kenwood TS-570D for ham use.
