I can hear a Chinese (or other similar Asian language) station on 550 AM with my Sony ICF-2010. I cannot find any stations with an Asian language format on that frequency in Canada or the USA. The signal is 3/10 on the signal indicator but easily heard.

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using an SDRPlay RSP1A for SWL with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet. Kenwood TS-570D for ham use.

I tried to listen for an ID at 0500 UTC (I believe all stations in the USA and Canada must ID in English at the top of the hour regardless of what language the rest of the program is) but KARI from Washington came on and obliterated the UNID station  >:( The UNID station was still 3/10 on the signal strength meter and when KARI came on it jumped to 7/10.

I wish but I used SSB to confirm the carrier frequency of 550 kHz.

The only logical answer is KARI with some paid programming and when KARI come on, they were switching from day to night power/pattern
