SL, you missed your era. Back in mid-70's bands would leave phone numbers in the liner notes of albums from time to time. The people who called them would get a studio tech, or even better the janitor. Paul McCartney and Wings were notorious for phone numbers in liner notes.

BTW, that area code is legit. I don't know about the rest of the number.
