XLR8 6925 USB 0448Z 03/31/2013
« on: March 31, 2013, 0450 UTC »
0448Z, Hearing XLR8 Radio, playing techno music and saying "XLR8" over top of the music. Receiving at S4 with significant static crashes.
0451Z, Oh man, it's going to be like last night. Still hearing them but in waves, now playing a song with a heavy metal sound.
0454Z, OM slowly saying X-L-R-8 and into another techno sounding song. I can't identify it though.
0500Z, into another song The Why Store - Lack of Water.
0507Z, lost them for a minute but came back up. Now playing L7 - Shitlist.
0511Z, playing another punk song, I can't identify it. Static crashes are killing me.
0513Z, another song, kind of a 60's feel but I don't know who it is. Token, I cheat and use the Sound Hound app to ID some songs that I don't recognize.
0517Z, thank you for verifying the other song coming on Token, I got a pretty bad fade and couldn't tell if it was the same song or not, per SH, it is Mad Season - Artificial Red. Sounds like a song that would be played on Sons of Anarchy. He he
0523Z, XLR8 ID and then into another song.
0527Z, deep fade so I've got nothing right now.
0534Z, came back up to an audible level, now playing The Eagles - Take It Easy.
0542Z, still playing music, female singer but I can't make it out.
0543Z, playing Atlanta Rhythm Section - Champagne Jam.
0547Z, Male saying XLR8, and then started playing Eddie & The Subtitles - Louie Louie.
0551Z, now playing Marvin Pontiac - Now I'm Happy.
0553Z, unknown song, very 70'ish. (I'm looking for my dashiki).
0557Z, punk song.
0601Z, electronic sounding XLR8 ID and now into another punk song.
0604Z, into a song, all I hear is bongos though. No, wait, it is Bush Tetras - Too Many Creeps.
0608Zm XLR8 ID and into more punk music. I don't know it.
0612Z into a techno sounding song with drums and chimpanzee screaming sounds.
0614Z, now playing Tom Vek - I Ain't Saying My Goodbyes. Song was stopped and immediately went into a The Weasels - Beat Her with a Rake.

Decent signal into the Mojave Desert of California tonight, not strong at only about S6 or so, but clear.

0506:25 ID, quick XLR8 ID and into a song I cannot ID
0509:20 into another song I cannot ID
0512:30 another song I can't ID
0517:30 ID and into song

0530 Signal is coming up now, S7 to S9 and nice

0534 A song I can ID, "Take it Easy", Eagles ;)

The songs are clear in the above songs, I just have no idea who or what they are ;)

0618Z, I heard 2 different XLR8 IDs. (Sorry, I had to start a new box. It was messing with my eyes)
0619Z, I believe they have signed off. The last 10 minutes of the broadcast was at or near S7 although the nearby storms were still wreaking havoc. XLR8, thank you very much for an awesome show!  ;D

SDR catch, 0446z sign on with music and an ID, about S8 here, very good with little or no noise.
Some peaks to S9+10 at 0509z, then it went long at 0510z, down to S3 or so.
The signal came back to S9 at 0522z.
Went long again around 0554z.
Off at 0618z.

Thanks to KE5WRT for the detailed report which helped me to ID them here in SW Idaho.  I heard the Eagles "Take It Easy" around 0534 but most of the xmsn was in the weeds with occasional deep fades. Good to hear them, though.

My pleasure. I have a little bit of OCD. LOL.
