Don't make fun of a classic like "Timothy", Skip. It ain't right.

I think the op has a good sense of humor. These are some of the worst songs to hit the charts in 1971.

I remember all the High School guys walking around in Navajo hat's the summer the movie "Billy Jack" and it's theme song "One Tin Soldier" hit the theaters and airwaves. Like that look was going get them girls.
